Re: Kontakt 7.7 - now with ads

I despise the new browser and have it set up to default to the old way, especially since I have a lot of libraries that are not going to show up unless I look in the old file browser. The addition of ads does piss me off. The point of paying for a license should mean I don't have to deal with adware...

Re: Abbey Road Orchestra - Violins 1 announced

Did a quick run though this morning. Sounds very nice especially if you back off the vibrato a touch. I will agree that I can get similar results with 18 Violins from EW on some passages but what I enjoy about Spitfire, and the same goes for BBCSO, is I can play a fast line with short, long and fast...

Re: Abbey Road Orchestra - Violins 1 announced

I've downloaded, but won't have a chance to explore it till tomorrow morning. Looking forward to giving it a test at 48k and 96k to see how the M1 Ultra handles it!

Well I went ahead and got Pro. I also grabbed Metals which I missed before so shame on me if I want to keep this going at the lowest possible dollar amount.

Re: Abbey Road Orchestra - Violins 1 announced

I'll have to watch the walkthough as I really was not impressed with the sound. Hell my Hollywood Strings still sound pretty damn good especially when you get it all going with the right verb, and I'm becoming more impressed with updated VSL. I have it in my cart but so far any fast passage sounded ...

Re: Waves go subscription only

I joked about an extension of WUP. On another site I saw someone call for the firing of their entire management team and a selling of the company. Insert eye-roll emoji here. They messed up. They are going to fix it. They don't owe us anything. Calling for heads to roll is just so... internet-y. Ha...

I'll have to look and see what ones I don't have as I think I'm going to get all of them for Kontakt, Diva, and Omni.

Re: Cubase 12 released

My first impression was the CPU load was much worse as I was over 50% higher on some projects. Turns out that because of the additional ASIO meter all things such as loading of samples in the background cause wild fluctuation and after a couple of minutes when everything was loaded it calmed down. O...

I have a second license that I will no longer need. I was going to upgrade it to Nuendo but decided against it.

I will mail the eLicenser to you.

Re: Pro Tools 2021.6 M1 support and 2048 tracks in Ultimate

A significant update to Pro Tools in 2021.6. While all full-featured versions of others DAWs have unlimited tracks, Pro Tools has always been limited. It still is, but those limits have increased - 256 tracks in regular Pro Tools (up from 128), 2048 in Ultimate (up from 384). . The bigger point the...

Re: Cubase 11 released

Interesting-I wonder which is more powerful. Mine in an iMac i9, 8 core@3.6ghz, 128 gb RAM. I would think we could get similar track counts, but other internals would be a factor I'm sure. That being said since Cubase isn't my main DAW I just like to keep it up to date since I have some projects in...

Re: Cubase 11 released

I’m wondering if the Metal optimization will provide any Mac optimization other than graphics. Could be my imagination but so far it does seem to have made improvements to the overall performance. I’m able to drop my buffer to 128 and get good results where as before 256 was needed. Graphics are mu...

next they do BBCSO, despite the marketing this is clearly their budget library in terms of price and specs. Trying to promote their Player and get students into their ecosystem. Some cool education oriented features. The library may well be successful right now in school/university settings and we ...

Re: Spitfire @ Abbey Road !/?

Not sure why people love to hate of SF at the other forum, I'm glad it is more tame here. I get that if you aren't into it then don't bother but so far as I delve more deeply into what SF has to offer I am finding that these are the best libraries for me all around. I can see why people love them an...

Re: Spitfire @ Abbey Road !/?

I don't know Mathias as someone who loves to get their ideas from using ensembles this is right up my alley. Sometimes they make the final cut, sometimes all replaced with the individual sections. Going to think about this one and might jump on it and follow it all the way through.

Some of their synths are great and some are...meh. They don't do a good job with Oberheim and the CS80 as you can't really dial in the same sounds but some of the others are spot on.

Re: Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra

I have it but I’m not one for lengthy replies. To me it’s a beautiful library and has become my go to and main starting point. I don’t have an issue blending it yet. Granted I also never had any of the issues others reported with the player so I’m very fortunate there.
