Re: Spitfire Symphony Orchestra - $499

All in all this seems like a great oppotunity to get the complete SSO if everything works well. I was contemplating about SSS but didn't want to spend another 600,- bucks to complete the package. Now I get it for 140,- due to the fact I have the Chamber Pro version without SSS. The CTAO mics are eve...

This is pretty impressive. I wonder if maybe a new version of Stylus Rmx might go in this direction if it ever will see the day of light.

Re: Black Friday tips

What a good thought - I don't know of any. You can fairly easily explore any one machine via the wonderous gift of YouTube, but a broad overview escapes me. I do a broad separation of analog / digital, and I have these as separate libraries in XO. I'm much more interested in analog, I find it endle...

Re: Black Friday tips

My real weakness is drum machine samples, and imo the best out there (mmmaybe even better than Samples From Mars) is Goldbaby. They have a 40% off BF sale. I see they have a new huge Tape Drum Machine Collection which includes some of the stuff I already own, and they do extra discounts in these si...

Re: ARVerb - Am I the only one who thinks this reverb is fantastic?

Sounds very good to my ears. A smooth and unobtrusive tail to my ears. Maybe a bit like a simplified Spat. I can imagine this as a great simple tool for Sample Modeling instruments and alike. The decision what to buy during the next days isn't getting any easier.

Control A means CC2 by default. So I've been told by someone at vi control. Couldn't find any info in the manual about that and how to change it.

This means Modo Drums and Modo Bass for 199,-? These two alone for this price is an incredible deal. Although I probably wouldn't or even cannot download all the stuff included just for those it is tempting.

Re: Realitone / Nightfall (Hybrid/Organic Strings)

I like Sunset Strings a lot. Bought Nightfall around 2 month ago but didn't install the prerelease since I wait for the Native Access version. No urgent need but the string sound is great imo and you can do things with it (Sunset) that would be hard to achieve with other libraries. Part of buying it...

Re: Orange Tree / Django Jazz Guitar

IMO forget about even thinking of ever being able to mock up a convincing Django style guitar solo. There are so many things going on from very guitar specific arpeggiated licks to a typical phrasing and vibrato which differs from note to note and is totally dependent on context that I doubt this ca...

Re: VSL Synchron Elite Strings (Chamber Ensemble)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BL53wLnpCO4 I think just about anyone could do much better than this with CSS, Vista, or possibly Sable. Maybe even Nashville Strings. This sounds 2007 tier to me :/ the 'articulation-stiching' effect is overriding any other impact the music could have! This is prett...

Re: VSL Synchron Elite Strings (Chamber Ensemble)

May I guess a thing? When creating digital musical instruments there are basically two main approaches: recreating the instrument or recreating a perspective of the instrument. IMHO VSL, AudioModeling, SampleModeling are masters at recreating instruments. No personality whatsoever. Pure instruments...

Re: VSL Synchron Elite Strings (Chamber Ensemble)

I had a very strange back and forth with it. First impression was great. Then I purchased it last week and after trying it a bit I immediately wanted to return it. The next day I played again and actually liked it pretty much. So much that I spent several hours to set up violins1 to my workflow so t...

Re: VSL Synchron Elite Strings (Chamber Ensemble)

The more I hear from Elite strings I think they are pretty awesome. Are the transitions really lumpy? Cannot say that. With dimension strings I've always been dissatisfied with the transitions, with Elite I cannot hear anything very lumpy so far. I have played with small string ensembles and it just...

Re: VSL Synchron Elite Strings (Chamber Ensemble)

After a short first impression I have to say it sounds pretty good to my ears. Better than anything that has been released in the last months. It seems to be possible to be pretty expressive. After first hearing about it I had zero expectations that I will consider to get a vsl string library again....

Re: Modern Scoring Strings (aka LASS 3)

I've been thinking about this post, and I can't figure out if I agree. The demos sound good to me, but - if you'll excuse the phrase - not orgasmically good. And what I can't decide is whether or not its the writing or the library. I genuinely don't know but I'm 60/40 its the writing. I think the o...

Re: Modern Scoring Strings (aka LASS 3)

Apart from shying away having to set up and get used to such a big library again I'm unexpectedly very disappointed by most of what I hear from the first demos. It seems like that they kind of forgot during scripting all the features that in the end it is supposed to create music that sings and brea...

Re: Modartt / Pianoteq v7

I tried the demos of the vibes, steel drums, celeste and harp. Is it possible that these sound significantly better than in previous versions? I haven't been very impressed when I got pianotec. I think it was version 5. But now I liked what I heard pretty much. I'm not sure if it's just a matter of ...

Re: Spitfire Audio 'Symphonic Motions' Library Released

I'm on Cubase 10,5 and had a big difference in performing SymphMotns via VePro instead as an instrument in cubase. Was like day and night. One Instrument instance of SM brought the asio meter to collapse pretty fast. After running 3 instances in vepro cb dIdn't bother at all. And my modest Macpro 5....

Re: Spitfire Audio 'Symphonic Motions' Library Released

One unexpected thing that It could be used for are measured tremolo melodies and arpeggios. I used it in a completely out of orchestral context synth-rock track layered with a synth melody. Wouldn't have had the idea probably if I wouldn't have bought it just in the moment when I had to to rework an...

Re: ProjectSAM / Summer Sale (-30%)

Harp wise I'm totally into the chocolate one. Because of different mics which should not be confused with mic positions it's very flexible sound wise and the newer orchestral harp presets open up a lot of possibilities. For me it's miles ahead of others I've used like spitfire and vsl regarding the ...

Does the H910 something similar as soundtoys crystallizer? And is it maybe redundant if I already own it or does it bring something significantly different to the table?
