Re: NI Kontakt 8 and Komplete 15
https://i.imgur.com/8Bot6fH.png Komplete 18 and Kontakt 8 are released on September 30. Kontakt 8 doesn't look like it is the ground-up rewrite I was looking for after the debacle of Kontakt 7, but it does appear to be substantially different and does host a new hybrid synth called Conflux - with R...

Re: Musio - latest stuff
I'm curious to see what happens. Even though I never got involved in Musio, I do own almost every Cinesamples orchestral library in Kontakt, and I really do like the samples, the players, instruments, and most of all the Sony Stage, which sounds to me like so many old films. I can't describe my feel...

Re: ANWIDASOFT - SPATIO Hall
Too bad there’s no aax version, but I suppose at $25 they are keeping it simple. I would like to know how it compares to more expensive reverbs like vintage verb 😄, fabfilter R verb, and the Lexicon bundle. I could only use this through VE Pro which limits its application (If I remember it’s there 😂...

Re: Sonokinetic Orchestral Strings (with A/B divisi)
For all intensive purposes, it’s June. Perhaps Sono should stop tweeting posters that emphasis “SOON” and just get on with it until they are dropping it, or it at least has been delivered to NI for encoding. I’m happy to wait, just stop making injuries worse by providing concrete evidence of your ig...

I didn’t realize finalize or was out as well. I used to use that hardware I’m really curious as to whether the software is even close. I have VSS3 (bought at the last sale -30% off?) and I’m interested in VSS4 but I think I’ll wait for a sale since I have lots of verbs. MD4 looks interesting but bet...

Re: ProjectSAM Symphobia 4: Price Drop and 1.1 update
Still looks confusing but apparently $479 is with all the discounts, undiscounted it’s $599. But if you own a Symphobia or buy another with Pandora it’s $100 off... not sure where the extra $20 off is coming from... Then Core is listed as $239 and those with another Symphobia (or buying one) is $50 ...

Midi 2.0 backward compatabilty improvements
Happy New Year All, I couldn’t find a topic on this after searching so I thought I would point us to this concise summery of the new Midi 2.0 standard, which I’m excited about since it’s not only backward compatible, but could actually improve performance on devices built with midi 1.0. Some amazing...

Yes, this is a new plugin for creating custom tire sounds. You still need to add an engine, but this plus the Krotos plugin could make some decent custom sounds. $159 intro price. https://www.boomlibrary.com/sound-effects/grip/?utm_source=BOOM+Library+%7C+Professional+Sound+Effects&utm_campaign=...

Re: Cinesamples Abbey Road Upright Pianos discontinued
You know, I am a huge Beatles fan, as well as some others, so you would think I would be the perfect target for these kind of things, but in the end, to me they are just freaking samples and if they get the job done with a little massaging, I don’t much care where they come from. That is EXactly wh...

Cinesamples Abbey Road Upright Pianos discontinued
It all ends Wed. On sale for $65. Apparently their licensing contract with Abbey Road runs out Wed and sales have not been enough to renew. Too bad, some very good character uprights. Glad I wasn’t on vacation and picked it up before it disappears! https://vi-control.net/community/threads/abbey-road...

Re: NI to no longer allow registration of legacy products
This actually begins a limit (maybe 10 or 12 years?) to how long libraries will be supported. I’m not sure why I expected it to be longer (probably because I still have working hardware that’s 30+ years old) but it should be a new factor when buying libraries. Sad to think many of my “new” libraries...

Re: NI Mysteria vocal instrument
Even moreso, since this can play through a scene and give you textures that are nowhere else, but they, like 8Dio and East West, seem to always price it at double or triple it’s market value, so when you get it at half off you think you got a deal. In reality this, Thrill, and Action Strikes are wor...

Re: CineBrass Sonore
Mike Barry made a very good post at VI-C to explain in more depth the recording techniques used here, and what they've learned down the years. It all sounds highly plausible to me, that the secret to good dynamics and legato is all in how its recorded, and there's only so much you can do in the edi...

Re: Premier Sound Factory / Acoustic Bass G (re-release)
Umm, some here have math issues? $75 minus $30 coupon is $45, not $35. And even though I bought the original at half price ($75), paying another $45 for a gui and scripted legato that honestly should have been there in the first place (I sent many emails letting him know how easy a GUI would be and ...

I think Falcon AAX renews when yoiu renew the support plan or have an active subscription, X. That said I share your deep ambivolence to Falcon in general and Avid's AAX version in particular. I can't recall ever hearing such dire factory sounds, and given its complexity and PT-only host, I instant...

UVi Falcon 2 / F1 issue
Just saw that Falcon 2 has been released: https://www.uvi.net/falcon.html They say it's a free update so I figured I would see if my free Falcon 1 from Avid (came with Pro Tools upgrade) would qualify, but it wasn't in my UVI account. So I went to register it with UVI but couldn't find my serial num...

@Guy. Have you worked with that tonal balance thing on orchestral or even hybrid music? I’ve used O8 for mastering but never really used the plugins when mixing. On a more personal note. I really miss the reverb they had in Ozone, was it pre version 6(?). I used it all the time. Best, /Anders The r...

This is one for the cheesegrater museum. So funny that they went back to square corners and bigger holes. But I think this will go through more redesigns (Apple loves doing that nowadays). I suppose it doesn’t matter since I’ll be waiting for a much higher single core speed (I have 3.5Ghz now) and a...
