Re: Newfangled Audio - Elevate: "Mastering Limiter with a Brain"

Limitless did look very interesting but I couldn't convince myself I needed it. And at about $200 USD it's quite a hefty hit to the wallet compared to Elevate at $80. But I imagine if I already had Limitless I'd be much less interested in Elevate. Looks like there's a memory leak with the VST versio...

Re: Newfangled Audio - Elevate: "Mastering Limiter with a Brain"

Playing myself. The transient emphasis does pretty nice things. I wish the plugin had an undo button. Out of the box it's pretty hefty on CPU though. My realtime meter went up 15% after loading the plugin. Reducing the bands down from the default (maximum) of 26 helps immensely. I've not used a mult...

Newfangled Audio - Elevate: "Mastering Limiter with a Brain"

This is an interesting looking multiband limiter. Plugin Discounts has it for $80 right now as an introductory price. 30 day demo is available. I really tried to understand the point of that video, J Rod, but 4 hours into it I decided to give up.

Re: Embertone Joshua Bell violin

It sounds like the JB Violin may be a good degree more flexible in that regard, at the slight cost of believability, if I read you correctly? That was my first impression, yeah. What the actual value of that relative improvement in believability is, I can't say. Let me elaborate by way of example. ...

Re: Embertone Joshua Bell violin

I spent a bit of time fiddling with it tonight (hey-oh!). First 15 seconds impression was similar to my first few notes on the Bohemian: out of the box, with really no effort, just playing notes on the keyboard and not bothering with CCs, I heard a pretty damn fluid phrase with a compelling tone. Mi...

Re: Fiedler Audio / Stage (placement and stereo-toolkit plugin)

https://fluxhome.com/shop/ shows Spat Revolution at $1790 USD.

Hopefully people feel compelled to upgrade and there will be a bunch of resales of Spat v3 hitting the market at some reasonable prices.

Re: Modartt releases Pianoteq 6

Download demo and check it out. Of course that's not really necessary. At $30 there was never really any chance of me not upgrading to 6. Incremental, evolutionary improvements, I would say, but still very welcome. I admit I had high hopes for the new authorized Steinway D (a consistent favorite am...

Embertone Joshua Bell violin

I think perhaps the Bohemian is about to get some real competition: http://www.embertone.com/instruments/joshuabellviolin.php https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gtm9uLBl9kA It doesn't take the performance player aspects of BV quite to the same degree, but it still looks very playable and expressive, an...

Re: Blue Cat Late Replies

Wow, looks remarkably flexible. It even self-hosts other VST plugins which, along with its own internal effects, can be applied per tap.

Good intro price too, at $96 USD.

I recently bought UVI Relayer, but if I hadn't, I reckon I'd have gone with Late Replies instead.

Yes, if you squint, tilt your head, and stand on one leg, it's clearly a six-sided die. :)

Re: A New Addition to your Spitfire Symphonic Collection Coming Thursday !

No, each individual evolution is orchestrated across the sections with no more fine grained control. Of course you can control which evolution you want to use for each note if you want (by using the individual patches), but those notes are going to be orchestrated across multiple sections. I think f...

From the screenshots and walkthrough, looks like full CTAO mics are present. So, probably no reason not to take the free upgrade.

I'm not really confused by it -- I understand they are trying to rebrand their products to be clearer -- but as someone who already owns all their orchestral stuff, I'm patiently awaiting a new release that I find interesting. :)

How frustrating. I'm afraid that, for their plugins, I'm not able to find any resellers either. I suppose the universe is telling you to be happy with the Lexicon PCM reverbs. :)
