Re: U-he Repro-5: Now in Public Beta

This is a slight tangent. but read on a post elsewhere that Reaper's reporting of CPU is under-representative of real load, whereas Cubase is pretty accurate. I only hear glitches when I hit the red... anyway, made me feel a bit better... Anyway 2, I can have multiple instances very happily with MC ...

Ah ok... not so much sonic fidelity as authenticity under certain parameters?

Re: U-he Repro-5: Now in Public Beta

Average CPU usage over here in Reaper is 10-20% (depending on HQ and MC buttons - 20% is HQ on), all 8 voices at full blast unison and a ton of resonance, on my OC'd i7-6700K at 4.5 GHz. Decent. :D Good ol' Cubase - I was getting 90-100% routinely on single core, but this dropped to 20-30% on multi...

Holy cow, the low end on this thing... it is for sure a CPU monster* but true analogue heaven.

*clicking MC - for multicore - sure helps though.

Re: Toontrack Superior Drummer 3

Thanks again Kyle! Meanwhile V3.0.3 is out, a ton of stuff. Have boldened my instant favourite: New: MIDI In/Out indicators have been added. A mono setting for Cubase has been added (32 mono out instead of 16 stereo). You can now choose how many CPU cores Superior Drummer 3 should use (in Settings >...

Re: Black Friday 2017

Thanks Quasar, added - just to add that I tried Expose last week, and I thought it was truly awful. Red flagged literally everything I threw at it, inc stellar commercial mixes. You've be better off spending $12 on a whip and beating yourself with it non-stop for a month imo. But hey, it's a free tr...

Re: Cubase 9.5

Well it sure looks better than the complete wash out I miserably feared, but I haven't seen anything that addresses my own concerns regarding buggy track archives, multichannel disabled tracks or general CPU efficiency, so I'm still hurrumphing. Direct Offline Processing looks kinda interesting - si...

Re: Toontrack Superior Drummer 3

That's a mighty big e-kit there Kyle. Do you know if Toontrack have fixed those mapping glitches? Sounding mighty fine in the meantime. The quality of virtual drums now is so good, I genuinely don't think that well played / programmed ones are distinguishable from real for most material. Hmm, I can ...

Yeah, on my JRR shop flyer they definitely say 44% off Adaptiverb but I noticed it was missing on the site - a glitch hopefully.

Re: Black Friday 2017

Thanks Jaap - according to the iZotope website they're rolled out week by week, and I wasn't sure all the Best Service prices were yet discounted. So I've added iZotope to the OP with the official line of new discounts each week.

Set credit cards to stun. This won't be a completely exhaustive list, there's just too much stuff to make it practical. However, this will hopefully be a one stop shop for all the big deals, plus some smaller gems that might otherwise get lost in the noise. I'll keep this OP updated - please post be...

Re: Zynaptiq Wormhole and Others 44% off at JRRshop

Thanks X. I didn't buy wormhole after the trial... I was a little disappointed in it really, it felt like a product in search of a purpose, Zynaptiq have made products that are very much purpose-driven in the past. It can do some nice things, but my impression was I could do all those things another...

A nice update today in 1.2.6. There's a new Comb filter, Favourites in the browser and a fair few other enhancements. There's a rreally useful sound preview now when auditioning oscillators / wavetables etc, makes for quick working. - added new filter model: "COMB KEY". This one is perfect...
