Re: Boom Library 'Turbine' / sound-design

You know Henning Wehn - now there's a funny German comedian. However, we'd better get back on topic... Sorry, all !

Not British and used it above before you! :)

Re: ProjectSAM Symphobia series 1.6 updates inc new content

Thanks for the update Guy. After around a year of indecision , and having just said I wasn't buying any more, and having let the sale come and go on Project Sam's website, and even though there are no new patches in it with 1.6, I finally succumbed and bought Lumina on JRRshop for €350, where it see...

Amazing Jaap, fair play to you.

(PS I only realised recently that the triple spiral is an old stone age / celtic symbol and is found inscribed in rock at Newgrange not too far from me).

Re: Spitfire Albion ONE 10th anniversary update

Based on thoughts here, and having another listen through, I decided to go for the upgrade as a Christmas present to myself. I got no real use out of the original Albion (I didn't really like a lot of it), hopefully I'll get more use out of this later (when I ever get around to downloading it). It d...

Re: Goodbye, Walter. And thank you for all the music

Seeing as @tack had a late Black Friday post, thought I'd do one as well. (I can't believe I didn't think of posting this at the time. It stems from much earlier events but some of the lyrics still seem to fit quite nicely with our modern-day version) When Black Friday comes I'm gonna dig myself a h...

Great idea Jaap, I only have Omnisphere and even the Omni patches on their own are great value but more importantly it is for a great chariity as well.

Yep I got an email saying I can upgrade from my 'legacy' "1" to the new "ONE" for €99. I was just going to ask here if peeps thought it was it worth it, when I spotted the thread. I don't use "1" or to be honest really like much of it apart from Easter Island Hits and t...

Re: Goodbye, Walter. And thank you for all the music

Yep you're right - Fagan's iconic delivery and personality makes them a completely different thing, makes it what it is. And yup the slower version of Brooklyn is definitely better. The studio version is more Carly Simon-y or something. What I realised the other day for the first time - when I came ...

Re: Goodbye, Walter. And thank you for all the music

My God, following a small bit of accidental youtube surfing, I had no idea how many Steely Dan tribute bands are out there! Incredibly difficult to pull off, especially the lead vocal, which is so iconic. Anything not really close to the feel of it just sounds wrong. And timing-wise, most of the cov...

It's amazing what you can turn that famous Hitler clip to. Here Adolf bemoans what Steely Dan became post the Gaucho album.

Re: Goodbye, Walter. And thank you for all the music

Yeah when I got the CD a few years back I really liked it and played it to death, but generally afterwards I had the impression that it was a little bit same-y and blues-y/pop-y for them. But then came back to it recently and thought (while still not 100% convinced by that snare and bass sound!) yes...

Re: Goodbye, Walter. And thank you for all the music

Rediscovered this beauty recently from Messrs Becker and Fagan. Some incredible crackin' tunes on this (turn it up!), not to mention the fabulous sound production, arrangements and mix (even on youtube), and of course the quirky lyrics. Jack of Speed (what a riff), Cousin Dupree (a rockin' country t...

Succumbed to the extended version of this at €86 yesterday (looks like that offer still available) but won't be able to use it for a few months. Hope it works out.
