Re: Orchestral Tools / Glory Days (Big Band Horns)

plot twist, you combine this with berlin brass + expansions then you have 7 part trumpet divisi 5 tenor bones 2 bass bones 1 contrabass bone and uhh.. crap still 4 horns. really though, what's impressive to me, is that these all come with probably more mute variations in total than the berlin brass ...

Re: New choir library from Spitfire

Hmmm.... I think there's some truth in what you say Kyle - I agree they make products for themselves which can be both a good and a bad thing - but I feel you've used way too broad a brush. Their recent solo string library, for example, seemed incredibly impressive from a performance perspective. A...

Re: New choir library from Spitfire

completely lacking legato, or pushing dynamics - that silky smooth choir sound is absolutely nailed with dominus just saying :D and tanuj, I feel like spitfire has basically become more of a company that makes beautiful keyboard patches than virtual instruments... because ultimately, that's how the ...

honestly yeah, that's what im worried about, I **should** be able to get a full OT template going with 128 gigs, but I might have to skimp on some instruments sadly

Re: Orchestral Tools / Time Macro

I decided to jump... infinite possibilities... I don't need it, Kyle's right, I already have more sound possibilities than I'll probably ever use. I tend to use the same old tools, the ones I know. Or, it could add a whole new dimension to something I write in the future. I'm about to find out<G>! ...

Re: Orchestral Tools / Time Macro

G.F. Hegel spoke about the subjunctive, as standing on the precipice of infinite possibility. You have a choice to run head long off the cliff either to your death or into the metaphysical. Your choice. One more day and we'll know. lets leave hegel out of this, in a lot of ways his ideas let to som...

Re: Orchestral Tools / Time Macro

Its impressive how many people here want to buy something they don't need... which is kind of funny to me, because it says a lot about OT craftmanship... In no way does the promo try to push the idea that it's even a library you need... it's basically just "look at this thing we made" ive ...

Re: Orchestral Tools / Time Macro

Yeah, I know! I just wanted to make it clear because we've been barraged a bit by "I heard XY got a NFR, send me one, too" emails. Wrong, nothing at all has been sent. We almost never send out any NFRs to people before release, in fact it is usually after (because if there are issues, pay...

Re: Orchestral Tools / Time Macro

OTOH im half tempted to sell off libraries/my roli just to get my hands on their brass/strings LOL. waiting everyday hoping the phone will ring so I can get a decent job again, but man... I've tasted blood - and despite how resource heavy OT stuff is, it has exactly what I want from a sampled librar...

Re: Orchestral Tools: Metropolis Ark 1

Arc3 struggles with melodic content... it's basically a bunch of shorts and Tempo synced repetition patches I don't think there's actually a real Legato patch, or sustain patch in the entire thing You could get away with using some of the articulations in a phrase, but at that point you are essentia...

Re: Spitfire introduces their Studio Series with Spitfire Studio Strings

Ohhhhh we got the dane in here I haven't kept up with your little sample library adventure, how is that going/turn out? my humble opinion is that there ARE very nuanced articulations for "short" notes. Less in the classical realm, but many of these things can/are articulated by the compose...

Re: Spitfire introduces their Studio Series with Spitfire Studio Strings

that's actually the first example I've listened to piet, thanks for confirming everything I've already assumed about spitfire releases.

basically, if it's an instrument that produces legato - theres no reason I should pay attention to it.

Re: Spitfire introduces their Studio Series with Spitfire Studio Strings

About Spiccato/Staccato I can confirm that most of professional Italian musicians don't know what "Spiccato" is. String players use the term Balzato (or I believe the French Saute) for the bouncing type of articulation. The fact is that the bouncing is not something that's written on pape...

Re: Orch. Tools Berlin Symphonic Harps Library

Is this the only library that samples the pedals? Maybe it is just a feature that I missed on some other harps, it's so far I've been extremely amused just loading up a chord and whooshing around on it, even though it's still the same sustain patch from when I loaded it up Hopefully tonight I'll hav...

Re: Performance Samples / Con Moto Cellos

I don't think the sound is really all that impressive surprisingly... I really like the tone of Caspian, but yeah - I've got the criticism of the faster reps/shorts. and here is why: why would you pay that much for a legato library? I actually think the performance legato patches from SCS/SSS work b...
