Re: EastWest / Hollywood Orchestra OPUS Edition

Guy, I could swear...hmm. I think it's in the fine print somewhere, or I misread, or it was specific to that sale (but I doubt that.)

Re: EastWest / Hollywood Orchestra OPUS Edition

Ss I understood from reading one of the many sales, if you own a piece of HO (I own HB and HS Gold and HW silver) there's an upgrade price to full HOOPUS, yes?

Re: Audio Modeling SWAM V3 of Solo Woodwinds, Double Reeds, Clarinets, and Sax Released

I used to play flute solos on my first synth, a MiniKorg. It was the easiest to emulate, even for a synth.

Not that it actually sounded like a flute, but in my head....:)

Re: AcousticSamples / VHorns

Here a three very little snippets I made with V-Horns (2 Tp, 2 Tb) und Audiomodeling Saxes V3 (As, Ts, Bs). Room is Virtual Sound Stage 2 for early reflections+panning and Seventh Heaven for the tail. (I posted this on vi-control too so I simply used the same link) https://vi-control.net/community/...

$75 isn't awful as an upgrade price from V2 (which I have) but I have little idea what the upgrade entails soundwise.

Re: Spectrasonics: Omnisphere 2.8 and Sonic Extensions

As a loyalty discount customer, Omni was ridiculously cheap, as was Trilian. I was an owner of Atmosphere, Trilian and Stylus RMX. The transition to Omni and Trilian were seamless and very inexpensive. I’m still on Omni 1 though I know that 2 has great content. Still, I’ve never even HEARD all the p...

Re: Spectrasonics: Omnisphere 2.8 and Sonic Extensions

The key word (in your last comment, Guy) is “isolated.”

From a library composer’s standpoint, what about stems? I’ve always wondered about that, though I’ve never let it impede me.

Re: Incoming / major True Strike and Symphobia updates

I’m one of the (rare?) few who don’t care what the player is as long as it works. I don't do a lot of patch editing-as long as the GUI is simple, the player doesn’t crash and it’s relatively CPU-friendly, I’m good.

For my purposes, I’ve had relatively few problems with Play, UVI, Sine etc.

Re: Goodhertz / Tupe (Tape & Tube emulation)

Interesting. Satin is the first one I used where I really HAVE heard a difference, but I’m going to check out Tupe because, well, you’re Piet :) To this day a Piet recommendation, the great sonic enhancer Clariphonic, is my favorite plugin. One of the reasons is that it’s so simple. I love a “make i...

Re: Orchestral Tools / Duplex Saxophones

There's some nice tone in these. I'm on the fence. As always with sampled saxes, the transitions sound clunky, but these might be a little better than usual. I love some of the arts. The bend-ups are exceptional. I dislike most of the vibrato a fair amount, and hear a lot of that dreaded doubling/ch...

Re: Orchestral Tools: Tom Holkenborg's Percussion

Tobias, I'm confused by your post. Using a celebrity name IS a marketing tool, that’s the whole point. Calling it “Bob Jones Percussion” would likely not sell more copies if no one has ever heard of Bob Jones. It’s great that Tom was deeply involved with the products, but the fact remains that celeb...

Re: Orchestral Tools: Tom Holkenborg's Percussion

I think collaborations like this are good from a marketing perspective and can generate some serious revenues for companies, which allow them to expand their projects and increase their number. T.H. seems to have a lot of fans-good for him, good for O.T. If it had been a product that knocked me out ...
