Re: AcousticSamples / VHorns

Demos of solo sound very good, there is a demo called "Enough" and about 3 secs in it is enough, I'd like to hear this do a realistic section, I'm not convinced it can.

Re: Orchestral Tools: Tom Holkenborg's Percussion

This is not being marketed as ethnic drum library, it is a working library for media composers and it succeeds in what it does and in a different way than similarly focused libraries. For what it is it is the best I have heard, low to medium cinematic playable drums. That is all it does but it is ex...

Re: Orchestral Tools Rotary: Free Big Band Horns

It is extremely useful if you have Glory Days as you can write quickly with the sections instead of having to write for the individual instruments, a real time saver in certain circumstances. Also I have used it as a thickener for pop brass in a mixture of Session Horns Pro. the two sound nothing al...

Re: Spitfire / the first 2 additions to Abbey Road One Foundations

Actually you can turn the glock off and you can play chords on the WWs. Love the sound.. foreseeable issue is lack of range, seems quite limited, barely over 2 octaves.

Re: Modern Scoring Strings (aka LASS 3)

Hey Markus, nothing underhanded happened to your post, not sure it is there or not but it was not removed.

I like MSS but it is not going to be my only string library, it does have some very advanced tools.

Re: Modern Scoring Strings (aka LASS 3)

Hi you two - I doubt it, I'm not planning on buying it any time soon. I just can't face setting up another string library in the template! Have something like 10-12 of them already, I'm sure I'll get by. I seem to go in waves, alternating between times when I say I won't buy anything but somehow do...

Re: Incoming: Straight Ahead's "Birth Of The Trumpet"

Kayle if you want an un restrained trumpet playing FF for solos look at Fire trumpet, it will cost you now around 25 bucks. It goes out of tune at times but that is the tradeoff for serious blowing in this case. Its agility is impressive.

Re: Incoming: Straight Ahead's "Birth Of The Trumpet"

It is too polite, I have not opened it yet but am redoing Mood Indigo for an album and it seems like it might be perfect for that so I took a flyer on it. Would have not bought if not for this specific application. I know many people are amazed by this look ahead function but I remember Synful did t...

Re: Strezov Afflatus / 50% off until Dec. 1st

I'll be surprised if you are not very happy. If you want my custom multi I am happy to send it... I did this in 30 mins with my custom multi and one Scene D'Amoure patch...that's 2 patches, 2 tracks only so I could probably suss it out a bit better but how enjoyable for this non keyboardist to be ab...

Re: Strezov Afflatus / 50% off until Dec. 1st

I typed something in error and want to correct it.There is no portamento in the sections in Afflatus. There is however a quick portamento in the first chairs which you can layer in which is what I am doing. I have been using my custom multi for so long I forgot it is not the section playing it. That...

Re: Strezov Afflatus / 50% off until Dec. 1st

I am going to highly recommend it, over the past year it has been my work horse strings lib as the poly legato is a league above others I have tried. I have a lot of string libraries as I have done demos for many of them, this one I bought and am quite happy with it. Shortcomings, no slow portament...

Re: Audio Ollie / Nashville Scoring Strings

Just a word of warning in case you have not thought of it, this library on many patches wants a negative delay so you have to ok with working this way. There is a patch offset on shorts to make it easier to play in but still you have make adjustments.

Re: Audio Ollie / Nashville Scoring Strings

Cellos up front on the vid 1:55 (you missed it maybe age related...:)...), fairly accurate synopsis Larry from someone who does not have the library. Your instincts are fine tuned. The legato is pretty darn agile though, I think that most fast stuff can be pulled off with it. There is a runs patch i...

Ok, Have spent some time with D2, Need another perc lib like I need Covid. The programming is fantastic, nothing like it. Re: Native Instruments / Orchestral Tools ARKHIS

There is no sure thing this ends up on 13. I have found that when i buy Native instruments , when I do decide to upgrade to the next Komplete selling the now duplicate instruments is pretty easy and usually pays for the upgrade path in itself.

Kontakt. Library is quite inspirational. I hope they go back and record simple shorts and longs with the same techniques they recorded these arts. Would expand the usefulness even further but there are ways around some of those limitations by the sheer amount of possibilities. I find it interesting ...

Re: LiquidSonics Cinematic Rooms

I don't have the standard edition, but I reckon it will come down to how you like to use the Reverb. I find myself choosing a preset and then dialing in the exact sound I want every time. So if you are someone who usually relies heavily on good presets, I'd go for the Pro. If you are happy to dial ...
