Free Analog Lab Play and a 150 preset Pigments soundset for it, Pop Transcendence, from Audioplugin deals https://audioplugin.deals/product/analog-lab-play-pop-transcendence-sound-pack-by-arturia/ For those who already have a version of Analog Lab, the soundset is its own separate code so no problem...

Cubase 13.0.30

Some significant changes in this release. Well worth reading the notes on the file format especially. From Steinberg: User interface improvements 13.0.30 introduces further user interface refinements that improve readability and the overall look and feel in several areas. Most of the refinements can...

Re: Pro Tools 2024.3

Huh - thanks Anders, I didn't know that but it's not really working usefully here. In a test on Repro-1, I selected only Output as a parameter. But when I follow your steps, I get the first default controls all pre-mapped and no apparent way way to scroll to the others. In other words - I expect to ...

Re: ProjectSAM: Symphobia range half price

I mostly use VSL Synchron libraries currently and am only mildly interested in this. I prefer working with individual sections and orchestrating everything myself instead of using these types of pre-orchestrated combo libraries, so up until now I've avoided all of the Symphobias and Albions. If I'm...

Re: New iZotope Trash and free Trash Lite

Love the new UI. So quick to get a sound from the XY pad and the three EQ regions (it couldn't be faster to tweak the frequency bands or levels). Main gripe - wish there was a way to make auto-level a global setting, it gets trashed (!) if you change to a different preset. It looks like the UK updat...

Re: New iZotope Trash and free Trash Lite

$79 (reg $99). Haven't seen anything about a discount for Trash 2 owners. Can't figure out how to get Trash Lite, but I'm not trying very hard. Oh! I just clicked and £19 for me who has Trash 2. That's below my impulse buy threshold, and I like the look of the X/Y pads to get a custom sound quickly...

Re: Pro Tools 2024.3

Not been much made of this, but one big change in 2024.3 is that PT now uses efficiency cores in Silicon. Until now only 4 cores showed on my humble basic M2, now it shows all 8.

Re: Pro Tools 2024.3

I remember MIDI effects plug-ins from my days as a Digital Performer user. They were a fun feature, but I rarely used them. I’ll be interested in how they’re implemented by Avid. Honestly I find most of them not very useful in practice, and Avid's seem to be in this trend - I don't know why I'd eve...

Re: The Happy Thread Of Free

In theory, REAPER can be downloaded and is fully featured even without buying a license (personnal license is 60$). It has a 10s nag screen on open to remind you you are on an unlimited trial period, then off you go with the most customizable DAW out there :) https://www.reaper.fm/ Tis true - thus ...

Re: The Happy Thread Of Free

Pro Tools Intro fascinates me. Almost - but not quite - it makes me want to try using it as an experiment to see how far I can push it. 8 instrument tracks, plus another 8 midi tracks so you can make some instruments multi-timbral. Then you have 8 audio tracks - if you're not recording vocals or ins...

Re: The Happy Thread Of Free

I'd done a rough and ready OP with some of the best perrmanent free stuff. An amazing list. Obviously there's way more free out there, if there's something you know is great and I don't have it there give me a jog and I'll add it.

Re: The Happy Thread Of Free

Free is fantastic, but I have dozens of compressors and I use 2 or 3. Amazing and confusing times. Yup, same. Maybe I should change the OP to be a collation of all the best free stuff that is out there. If someone was starting from scratch today, I think you'd have excellent tools in almost every a...

Re: Musio - latest stuff [MUSIO 1 $199 this weekend]

Trying on Monterey-same version/same size. WinZip won’t open it. Any particular reason you aren't using the default macOS Archive Utility app to open zip files? I downloaded Musio today for a trial and it opened right up (on Ventura 13.6.4). Because I didn’t know about it? 😊 I’ve been using WinZip ...

Odd - installed 1.20.0 on Ventura yesterday with no issue. File size of the zip says 77.6 mb.

There are legatos in Musio that work well for me - more so in the ensembles than the solo actually. (do the trial!)

Don't take my word for it (or indeed anything). But quick, give it a demo, see if there are nuggets you could use. I find there really are some hidden gems in there.

And how do they compare to the kontakt ones? I haven’t been paying too much attention to Musio, and only had cinebrass core back in the day The main omssions are time-stretch or heavily scripted choir patches, and (currently) the multi-mics. Stuff like the hairpin mode is missing but tbh I never us...

for $199?
Yes - no new products above this, but all player and instrument updates will be included, inc the long-awaited multi-mics.
