Re: Steinberg Wavelab 9
Are two effects per clip not enough for you?
The price difference between Pro and Elements is enormous so I can only think many of the things I take for granted just aren't available to you.

Re: Steinberg Wavelab 9
I'm quite pleased with this version. So many folks talk about it being simpler to understand but I've been working with all versions up to 8.5 to where I was confident in getting the job done. This needs a bit of playing around with but I absolutely see the pros in the new layout. One thing that com...

Not unless you are processing the audio file with a hardware reverb to your playback system.RobS wrote:Slightly O.T. does anyone know if it's possible to have the reverb tail keep lingering on when playback is stopped in Wavelab?

Ah well, that is an altogether different conversation which I don't believe can be addressed with software.

Re: Music Prototyping
After letting the thread evolve the way it did (predictably), Surely by now you must have got the message loud and clear. - Seriously though, I'm going to say much more than I usually do in one post. Any performing musician (that is someone who can work with others in a combo where there is no musi...

On the contrary, it's for people with very little musical ability and this is my final comment on this subject.

Re: Good Old Tom Petty
Well, as with all business empires, we make the mistake of blaming the company when in actual fact, individuals within such companies make and profit from them. Our civilised societies no longer have or use hanging trees but.............progress throughout history hasn't always been civilised and I ...

They had none! but but but! another ticket selling company did have (at inflated prices)....

Re: Another iZotope free product (til 10th March) - DDLY Dynamic Delay
Sorry FEL, I often talk in riddles but I'm not going to be drawn into talking about a GUI as if it were more important than the results from the effect. I left that dubious pleasure for elsewhere on the interweb. Perhaps one question for you. Do you understand why or where such an effect is useful? ...

Re: DMG Audio / Limitless
Well, we're now talking about ear training rather than plugin comparing.
Did you read the manual while trying Limitless. It really does spell out how it works and how to tweak for best result on any material.

Re: DMG Audio / Limitless
Jason, to keep to the simplest of terms (because the developer spells out what goes on under the hood better than I ever will) if you download Limitless complete with demo license, setup a track to be processed, compare both using each limiter and can hear no difference. It'll be a waste of money. T...

Re: DMG Audio / Limitless
Been there done it. Funnily enough my demo license came very quickly but when within an hour of use I paid up for the full license it didn't turn up until I emailed them about the delay. There was then instant response and I got it within minutes. Just as a side issue, I'm finding very good results ...

Re: DMG Audio / Limitless
Piet, as the OP on this discussion I wonder, have you demo'd this plugin and if so do you have any early observations to share. I have Limitless and used it on every cue recorded since. An example would be my efforts in the EQ plugin tests however, only in transparent mode where the minimum amount o...

Re: Celemony Melodyne 4 released
I just posted there actually Jay (first time in a while...) as I read on yet another forum (the DUC) that the supposed quality problems only exist in auto mode when working on vocals. If you switch to Melodic, apparently it's very good. Apparently. I'm not demoing it yet, but I might do so later if...

Re: Celemony Melodyne 4 released
Ray, how effective do you think this would be at reducing everything but the vocal on a mix? That would be quite difficult depending of course on the complexity of the arrangement. There are some parts where it is hard to separate the voice from the backing when it creates the polyphonic file. In t...

Re: Celemony Melodyne 4 released
It must be remembered and taken into account when listening. My original file isn't........ because it has been downloaded from a certain music streaming site therefore I'm not starting with even CD quality. The demonstration is highlighting the 'last resort' possibilities of this application and no...
