Re: Spitfire Symphony Orchestra - $499
That was my thinking, too, Geoff. And since I own most, but not all, of those libraries, I’m very tempted to purchase this at the discount they have offered. There are also supposed to be bug fixes, so that’s welcome news IF they’ve taken care of most of the more annoying ones. Time will tell.

Re: ProjectSAM: The Free Orchestra 2
Personally, I wouldn’t claim that it’s better than the core version, which I own. But I do think it’s an excellent freebie and yes, it does have some of the features of the pro version. Just my opinion, of course. One can do quite a lot with it, and it’s very generous of Project Sam to include it.

. But no mention of Native Access though, so perhaps we are stuck with the ads there in the future?

Re: Crow Hill: String Murmurations (intro £149)
For what it's worth, the instrument sure is a lot of fun to just plonk on, though I don't know how usable it will be in a larger orchestration. I think you'll hear quite a lot of cinematic piano over the top of whatever is played on this library. Not quite drones, but close. Actually, I ‘hear’ othe...

Re: ProjectSAM: The Free Orchestra 2
Has anyone successfully downloaded Bold Legato Brass? I've updated via Native Access but it's not showing up for me. Yes, Bold Legato Brass was installed when it was first released and is working well in Kontakt 7 here. Just one "orchestra patch' showing the 2 instruments currently available.

Re: FREE: UAD LA-2A and $49 11-plugin offer
Thanks, Guy; will definitely do that. If the list is accurate, I currently have no idea why it's not available in UA Connect. EDIT: Ah ha! After closely examining the “list”, now I see what’s going. The list for plugins available Natively shows “Teletronix LA-2A Collection” and “LA-2A Tube Compresso...

Re: FREE: UAD LA-2A and $49 11-plugin offer
Yes, one can use UA Connect to install a few plugins as VST3. BUT, so far the number is very limited...only a couple of my 12 plugins are available. So, I guess we should clarify by stating that a few, but certainly not even the majority are available as VST3. I have the full version of the LA-2A an...

Re: FREE: UAD LA-2A and $49 11-plugin offer
I did just read your update, but remain confused about "UADx". What is that? It doesn't show up for my downloads and people continue to complain there aren't any VST 3 versions. Will see what I can find re. my interface, but nothing so far.

Re: FREE: UAD LA-2A and $49 11-plugin offer
Huh - according to this, UAD's native plugins are now also VST3 compatible? https://help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/5172457309716-DAW-Compatibility-with-Native-UAD-Plug-Ins . I'll check myself later, will report back. Yup, read that too, quite awhile ago. BUT I'm not sure exactly what they mean. ...

Re: FREE: UAD LA-2A and $49 11-plugin offer
The problem these days with UAD plugins is that they aren't VST3 and therefore don't even show up in Cubase 12 running in Native mode on a Mac M1 or M2 . It's just one of many reasons why I still have Cubase 11 installed as well. Fortunately they do work in Logic Pro, but that is not my main DAW. It...

Re: Abbey Road Orchestra - Violins 1 announced
A year or two ago I purchased a library from Spitfire called Abbey Road One, which I assumed would provide me with the full orchestra recorded at Abbey Road…similar to the BBC Symphony Orchestra library. After that, I was then encouraged to enhance ARO by adding Grand Brass, Sparking Woodwinds, Lege...

Re: Cakewalk Sonar returns
I can’t help but wonder about the logic (no pun intended) behind this attempt to restart or redevelop another DAW at this time. DAW users currently have a number of good products from which to choose, so what will make this new/old product so different and so special that one might be tempted to swi...

Re: Zynaptiq Orange Vocoder IV released
I have the original and used it extensively, so I’m glad to see an update is finally released, even if it’s a different company. Apparently there’s a special upgrade price for owners of previous versions, so that makes it more attractive now.

Isn’t one able now to create one’s own multis in version two, or am I mistaken? That is something I might find useful if I go ahead with the free update.

Re: M2 Macbook Pro and Mac Minis released
I’ve just ordered a new Mac Mini M2 for use in my office, so won’t be commenting on its usefulness in the studio. But it will get a workout with graphics and video as well as usual office-related activities. After so many years of using a Mac in the studio and a PC in my office, I’ve finally given u...

Re: Sonokinetic Vivace Legacy - free!
I think it's been close to 10 years since this library first came out, but I recall using it a lot back then, because, at the time, it was rather unique. Haven't thought about it for quite awhile, but do feel it may still have some uses, depending on the circumstances. So, if it's now "free&quo...

Re: Realitone / Nightfall (Hybrid/Organic Strings)
I am a bit biased as Mike is just a good dude but this is one of those libraries for at least what I do I hope people will kind of ignore it so I can keep it for myself. That's not exactly fair as it is very malleable so it is easy to roll your own. Working on a Warner project and it fits like a gl...

Good news for those who purchased the "Everything" bundle in June. The free update to Advanced should now be in your account, along with the new serial number. It appears they've fixed the 'error' that some bundle owners discovered when their RX 9 Advanced was initially only updated to RX ...

Re: Izotope everything bundle for 199$
Frank-pre your new computer, did you find that Ozone was very heavy on your CPU? Actually, no, Larry. I had a 2014 Mac Pro with 32 GB of RAM and quite often I'd just use Ozone in the final mastering stage of a project. But having said that, it also does not mean that sometimes I wouldn't use a numb...
