Re: Musio - latest stuff [MUSIO 1 $199 this weekend]

I’d jump on this deal if I didn’t already have all of CineBrass, CinePerc, and so many other titles from Cinesamples that it’s hard for me to justify buying Musio 1 over other investments; but I think this is a great deal nonetheless. Because I bought the Cinesamples stuff I wanted during the glitc...

Re: Musio - latest stuff [MUSIO 1 $199 this weekend]

13 hrs to go. Yeah ... this is Cinesamples, though, so I'm taking all bets that they extend the sale. "Popular demand" and all that. Even if they don't, we can be sure they'll repeat the sale within a few months, possibly even cheaper. Then again, I caved and bought it just now, so I gues...

Re: Maybe Spectrasonics HAVEN'T forgotten about rhythm...

I don't think Spectrasonics is at NAMM this year. They're normally in the Ilio booth (along with VSL, AAS, and some other companies that Ilio distributes), but Ilio's booth is on the smaller side this year. Who knows, though. The NAMM map is here: https://www.nammshow.org/event/nammshow/maps/RXZlbnR...

Re: NI cut fees for Kontakt 7 indie developers

Malachistos is right. I challenge anyone to do all the additional NKS work required in under a week. (I took me several weeks the first time, although I'm admittedly slow.) Also, the encoding fee is only a part of the upfront cost. Unless you're only going to order 100 licenses in your first order (...

Re: The bunker is no more - intruding Bunker Perc, now in the summer sale

I had always assumed the "bunker" was in Viet Nam, and of the era when we were at war there. Now that you explained it was in Copenhagen, I realize that makes way more sense, since (from my admittedly lacking knowledge of the war history, aside from what I saw in movies), they had tunnels,...

looking forward to your rundown of NAMM on VI. Just posted: https://vi-control.net/community/threads/the-adventures-of-creating-a-choir-library-march-8-2023-update.131249/post-5327475 It's been fun writing about the process, although I wish I could cut to the chase and get to the "It's release...

Re: Realitone Sunset Choir

My god, that guy is inarticulate! "This instrument is less than half percent edited" is just one of the cringey gems in there. This has been a really ambitious project, and I've been much more nervous about this instrument than others, because I went so far overboard with the upfront recor...

Yep. Totally clear, and I think the rest of us all knew what you meant. And ironically, you weren't even being negative about Engine.

But I don't know where else "you think ... our engine doesn’t work ..." could have come from.

Re: East West Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra Strings

That person is the real villain in the piece. I still think this should be a developer free forum. (Sorry, Mike, aka big fella.) Hey!!! FWIW, I don't disagree with you, though. I don't necessarily agree, either, mind you, but I can totally see reasons for not wanting developers (or other forum owne...

Re: Rhodes release a V8 sample based plugin

The Pro version, I mean. Who is it for? Rhodes purists will scoff at a software version of the sacred Rhodes sound anyway, and I very much doubt if a non-purist will be prepared to pay close to 300$ for a virtual Rhodes My understanding is that the Pro version includes the same software as the regu...

Ah, thanks for updating us on whoever’s being canceled next. Helpful comment. There's a whole lot of backstory you might not be aware of. These aren't my stories to share (so kindly don't share this post or quote me), but talk to enough developers and you'll run into a few (all of whom you would re...

It's because we don't like you, Frank! ;) I only sent that update to a couple people who had asked for these changes. (Don't tell Guy, but I was sneakily using him as a beta tester!) An email to everyone else was supposed to go out a couple days ago, but then I noticed the keyboard doesn't light up ...

Re: Hip Hop Creator

Are you sure the Start keyswitches don't work? I've asked a few people to check, and for both Macs and PCs, they seem to be working fine. (Just so we're on the same page, Start is the D# above the C# Stop keyswitch - for whichever octave you've chosen.) Regarding having Drums and a selected instrume...

Re: Hip Hop Creator

The main advantage of something you coded directly would be to separate the kits from the patterns I think, ultimately it would be great to control these separately. Dammit, something else on the wish list... Yes, that's definitely the plan. In that same vein, we'll also be adding an option to free...

Re: Hip Hop Creator

Wow, a tool for dummies with no musical skill to turn in a great authentic hip hop track? It's every Jay Asher dream come true! .? (it was an ironical moment :) ) Because I have posted that I think people should develop their skills and not just rely on the tools to do the work for them? That's the...

Re: Hip Hop Creator

Thanks for picking this one up, Guy. Your comments are totally valid, and here are my thoughts on them: 1. Keyboard mapping is one of the bigger challenges we had (and still have) with this instrument, because HHC tries to do more than what one instance of a Kontakt plugin should be doing. (I don't ...

Re: Audiobro Modern Scoring Brass

I think it is actually the demos and the walkthroughs they discuss to death before releasing a library to the public. The library itself should be ready since several months, as they already encoded it for some time. There also shouldn’t be to many problems with their scripts, as it is not new with...

Why not make this, say, a $300 library and offer something that is at least 10 times as detailed, deep and musical as what is contained in the current version? Well, first off, "at least 10 times as detailed, deep and musical" means 10 times as much work! ;) Sure, but why not? The thing I...

Re: Bolder Sounds / Fiddle!

I was in a hurry. That banjo is from Colossus :) That Colossus banjo is what motivated me to do RealiBanjo. They didn’t mute the open strings when they sampled each note, so all the open strings ring on all the samples. You constantly get G-chord (open tuning on a banjo) overtones no matter what yo...

Mike, except for the omission of fast strums up the neck ala Dixieland, I find Realibanjo very satisfying. What was the price of that, again? ;) Well, as I mentioned in the other thread, it's probably best I avoid this topic. If I could clean the internet of anything, it would be the RealiBanjo pri...

This might be more headslappingly bad news for you Mike, but check out the licensing terms. You can authorise any iZotope product up to THREE times simultaneously, and one of those can be an iLok! Now that you say that ... I'm remembering that being the situation! (Although I though it was two auth...
