Re: Crow Hill: String Murmurations (intro £149)

Next level auto accompaniment keyboard. Really nice legato transitions except those you actually play (as far as I can see). The sound is beautiful. But it doesn't look like the performance is following any voice leading. It sounds more like "oh, a new chord, lets play it from there".

Trevor Horn is such an innovative producer that he probably wouldn't use a plugin like this.

Guy Rowland wrote: Jul 06, 2023 2:56 pm Of course it raises the question of why you’d want a regular Kontakt library on top of Musio, once those features are in place.
One reason might be Noteperformer which has an engine for the complete Kontakt based Cinesamples orchestra.

Dry woodwinds are the least problematic section to mix into an orchestral environment.

I'm not a guitar player so I can't really answer. I's not an amp simulation but I can imagine it's useful for guitar sounds too. The Moogerfoogers were originally designed as guitar fx.

For me the best of these plugins is the distortion (available in each of them). Warm and fat.

Re: Audio Imperia / Fluid Brass (Cinematic Short Articulations)

Did anyone else start singing Chim Chim Cher-ee during Tech Demo 2? (It is a contrafact) Yepp! One trick pony for sure but a nice one. Though one has to have corresponding brass libraries available that match the sound and room to connect the repetitions to longer notes and phrases. Otherwise it's ...

Re: Spitfire / Appassionata ("Impulse Legato" Strings)

I really like this library. I don't say this often about Spitfire libraries because of the "pumping" sustains and legatos they mostly have... but SAS has the right amount of sampled expression and playability. It simply does the right thing, even on faster tempos. No blurred runs but every...

Re: Audio Modeling SWAM V3 of Solo Woodwinds, Double Reeds, Clarinets, and Sax Released

Nothing is perfect. But I'm a flute player myself and I don't have such a big problem with the sound. Probably I'm not silvery enough... hm, but when I look at my few left hair... joke aside: I think in context of an arrangement it's the best compromize between playability and sound. To me I doesn't...

Re: Audio Modeling SWAM V3 of Solo Woodwinds, Double Reeds, Clarinets, and Sax Released

I compared the AM flute to the BBCSO flute performance legato and the behavior isn't too different. I made some tweaking (using Logics match EQ, Virtual Sound Stage 2 and Cinematic Rooms) and also some adjustments in the flute3 plugin. It's possible to reduce the air sound but I like it that way. Fo...

Here a three very little snippets I made with V-Horns (2 Tp, 2 Tb) und Audiomodeling Saxes V3 (As, Ts, Bs). Room is Virtual Sound Stage 2 for early reflections+panning and Seventh Heaven for the tail. (I posted this on vi-control too so I simply used the same link) https://vi-control.net/community/d...

Re: AcousticSamples / VHorns

I installed the V Horns today. Really impressive. Very playable by wind controller when shortening the attack times. Especially the trombones are great. Too bad the second trombone isn't a bass trombone. I have to do a mockup for 2Tp/2Tb/As/Ts/Bs+Rhy-section in the next few days and will try them to...

Re: VSL Synchron Elite Strings (Chamber Ensemble)

That's true! I often even don't agree with my own opinion. Using different string libraries feels like a complete different work. I just finished a track using Elite Strings and often thought: oh, that needs more vibrato... ah there's a molto vibrato... oh, soft attack... maybe sfz... oh, the trills...

Sounds good... but it's a typical sample brass thing. Accents, staccatos, shouts, effects... it sounds good because the melody is played by the piano.
