Re: Black Friday tips

I bought the Ronroco, the last of the Red Room Audio fiddles that I didn't already have May I ask which one that is? I picked up their Gypsy fiddle. Already had the Celtic and Bluegrass versions. They get major props for capturing the sounds and styles of the Celtic and Bluegrass fiddlers. I'm not ...

Re: Audiobro Eternity: Adult Choir

I have had a chance to mess with it some and it is very cool. Legato phrasing is excellent and the word builder is about as intuitive as one can be if you are into that kind of thing. I did not mess with epic so no idea how punchy it is there. Tons of options but you can still get a work flow quickl...

Re: Abbey Road Orchestra - Violins 1 announced

I love a lot of my SF stuff but the second Paul played a fast run I was transported back to the 90's (unfortunately my body remains in 2023). I'll give these a chance as I see a more detailed walk through but not excited by this first look.

Re: NI / Strezov sale inc Afflatus for 60% off

HS has very usable ports I can send a demonstration but since you have them I would think you are covered. Besides the sound the great thing in Afflatus is the execution of the poly legato which makes mocking up or composing easier. Yes Lass has it but I think they are executed a bit better here tho...

Re: Spitfire Albion Colossus

This has always been the way with sample libraries and of course many other things. Giga studio was the first 3rd party plugin that could use a computer, they are gone. Garriton was the first to do RR's (well he did two) he is gone. VSL the first to do Legato, they are still here. Audio Bro was the ...

Re: Spitfire Albion Colossus

Here in the US my loyalty discou design nt and intro pricing bring it down to $289. On the one hand that is a pretty decent discount. On the next hand I think the design is pretty clever, two different sizes of the same orchestra could be really cool, and really useful. On the third hand, Homay's w...

Re: Virharmonic Bohemian Cello v4 released (not UVI)

Guy, I know we are both big fans of the violin but in the demos I hear of the cello the vibrato seems too much often for say using as a first chair (the violin functions very well in that capacity). Wondering what your experience is with this. I have Tina and the new Intimate Cello (which does not w...

Re: Realitone / Nightfall (Hybrid/Organic Strings)

I am a bit biased as Mike is just a good dude but this is one of those libraries for at least what I do I hope people will kind of ignore it so I can keep it for myself. That's not exactly fair as it is very malleable so it is easy to roll your own. Working on a Warner project and it fits like a glo...

Re: Kunst Audio / Expressive Violin

Another Bohemian user here. It is the first solo Violin I go too. it's not the player (though the new one is greatly improved) it is how it fits into a track. The new ensemble features make this even better than it was before. It may not be perfect for everything but I have nothing even close to as ...

Re: Bohemian Violin v4 (expansion 3) released - now with 100% less UVI

I think this is a fantastic release and one of the few upgrades recently I would have been happy paying for, that it is free makes it that much better. I am tempted to buy the cello just because of how useful the violin is but the tone to me feels a bit constrained for lack of a better term. Anybody...

Re: Orange Tree / Django Jazz Guitar

Markus, I agree 100% with all what you said, especially the guitar being the least important component. In gypsy camps in older days when a Selmac guitar was not available (now a days there are tons of Selmac guitar makers) they would toss around anything acoustic and it would sound right, it is the...

Re: Orange Tree / Django Jazz Guitar

Hi FriFlo, what you did sounds perfect for what you are trying to do, it does not have to be exact, just have the flavor. One of my most successful Gipsy Jazz projects I did was before I knew what I was doing, I just wrote and it worked out well., cuts are still being used 12 yrs later and it is sti...

Re: Orange Tree / Django Jazz Guitar

I was afraid I was going to be asked to comment on this... I'll start with the good...recordings are really nice and clean... Now I am not going to make a friend but in the spirit of helping composers I'll let it fly. The recordings sound like they were not made by a Gypsy Jazz player, just someone ...

Re: Spitfire / Appassionata ("Impulse Legato" Strings)

In listening back to the demos, specifically Dan's and Paul's, Dan's sounds like he is writer who is going to do his own whether the samples behave or not. The run at 1:25 is a dead give away. As a person who has done way more than his fair share of sample library demos there is no way I would have ...

Re: Orchestral Tools Metropolis Ark 5: Orchestra Of Functions

I am a demo maker for OT so work that into the equation when judging my synopsis. First the library plays as what you would hope for when listening to the videos. Sometimes you get a library and go how come it sounds better on YT, what's the trick? That is not the case here, it is as it seems and it...

Re: VSL / Synchron Harp

Another concern is at 8 velocity layers running your hands over the KB quickly I can "imagine" a large cpu hit. With a pre- recorded gliss of course the hit is minimal.

Re: VSL / Synchron Harp

Quite ingenious, I do miss the prerecorded glisses in the original, a real time saver but that library was a bit too dry for orchestral mockups in general but because of the mass amount of arts it still is my go to harp lib. Probably will take this for a spin.
