Re: Impact Soundworks Orchestral Bundle 87% off

I bought their Shreddage 2 library years ago. I really liked it. It was one of the most convincing guitar things I'd heard. Plenty of different layers and different samples within the same velocity to keep it more natural sounding. The articulations were pretty well done too. I haven't tried anythin...

I've started listing it in other places now so it may not be around much longer if anyone is interested. Cheers.

Re: Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 [For sale/swap]

I haven’t done anything that fancy. Mostly just classic style synth sounds. But you can do so much more than that with omnisphere and I think I barely scratched the surface to be honest.

Keep playing around and you’ll build a good collection in time :)

Re: Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 [For sale/swap]

Yes although it has many uses and an amazing library of sounds and patches out of the box, it is definitely a synth too! That has been my main use for it actually, and it became much better for that with the 2.5 update and all the extra oscillators etc. I learned everything with Omnisphere 2 and hav...

[SOLD] Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 [For sale/swap]

I've got the all clear from Spectrasonics to do a licence transfer so I'm selling my Omnisphere 2 license. I'll also include the original box and installation discs - all the discs are in great condition! Although you don't actually need the discs to install it as you can get a downloadable installe...

Re: 25% off any u-he product til end August

I rarely comment on threads but on this I will...Diva is amazing! To my ears this perfectly hits the analog sound just like my real ones. It is a bit of a CPU beast but worth it IMO. Yeh I always hear this. I just didn't hear it when I demo'd it before. I've already downloaded the demo again though...

Re: 25% off any u-he product til end August

@tack & @Arcana - Yeh I've heard Diva is the best for that many times over the years and that's why it's always been on my radar. Thing is, when I tried the demo, I just didn't feel it was doing anything I couldn't do in Omnisphere, or at least nothing that was noticeable enough to really make m...

Re: 25% off any u-he product til end August

So this would be a good time to pickup Diva then. Thing is, I tried the demo a little while back and just didn't see why I'd bother getting it as I can already make nice retro patches with Omnisphere 2. I can't help but feel I'm missing something though. Am I?

Re: Loudness Penalty [A useful tool for measuring loudness adjustments on streaming services]

I haven't used Expose before so I don't know. I have played with RMS readings, the TT DR meter and LUFS readings though. LUFS is my favourite method for measuring loudness and dynamics besides judging with my ears. It's the newest method of those lot too and measures things in a more intelligent way...

Re: Loudness Penalty [A useful tool for measuring loudness adjustments on streaming services]

Ah, thanks Ages. I think I must be partly responsible for this - I engaged Ian's services a couple of years ago and together we tried to figure out what was going on with Spotify. The poor lad did keep saying "Dynameter wasn't really designed for this!", so I guess this is the result. Wil...

Loudness Penalty [A useful tool for measuring loudness adjustments on streaming services]

Hey all. Here's a new tool from Ian Shepherd and MeterPlugs. You can use it to analyse your audio files and get a good idea of how much a streaming service will turn down your music (Assuming it's above their reference level. If it's on or below it, they won't adjust the playback level. Although, Sp...

Re: Omnisphere 2.5: Hardware Synth Integration and double voice architecture

I don't suppose they'd ever take the concept this far, but I was thinking how cool it would be to have a UI on one of their main tabs for each Hardware Synth, much like they do for Trilian patches. It would be a great way of working with these profiles for those who don't have all 20 hardware units...

Re: Omnisphere 2.5: Hardware Synth Integration and double voice architecture

No mixed mode, everything in the whole video is 100% Omnisphere, I guess a mixed mode would be your mixer! I did think it would interesting to a/b, but not in the way the internet is usually obsessed with a/bs. To me it’s not about “do they sound the same” it’s actually the opposite... how differen...

Re: Omnisphere 2.5: Hardware Synth Integration and double voice architecture

I just watched that video. I think I see what's going on now. Sounds like a great update! My oscillator prayers have been answered :D I love the way it will customise all the routing depending on which hardware synth you use with it. I didn't catch everything that was said though. Do you only hear t...

Re: Omnisphere 2.5: Hardware Synth Integration and double voice architecture

So you're saying we are going to get extra oscillators for some of the 8 layers? I do use Unison / Harmonia to make up for only having 2 oscillators, but I'd still prefer an extra one so I can mix 3 different waveforms together. There's just some patches I can't make as well as I'd like with Omnisph...

Re: Omnisphere 2.5: Hardware Synth Integration and double voice architecture

Sounds pretty cool. Hopefully the standard is not some expensive, proprietary thing though.. I'm most excited about the "vastly expanded synthesis". I don't know what the hell it's gonna be, but I'd be very happy if they added one extra oscillator per layer. That's my main issue with Omnis...

Re: Will this technology provide the ultimate headphones?

I'd be thinking the same thing as you, Guy. But, peoples eyes can adjust to waring prescription glasses and not waring them. Over time, your brain learns to compensate for each and keep things in the right perspective and sense of space. The view will be in better focus with the glasses on, but you ...

Nice :) Someone here suggested TDR to me a little while back when I was looking for some EQ's that didn't have lots of visual feedback. I really love their Slick EQ so I might check this one out. Though I'm pretty happy with my main two limiters I use right now.

[Wanted] Broadband absorbers

I hope it's ok to post Wanted threads here? Anyway, I need some broadband absorbers on stands. I can't afford the prices that these things normally cost from the recommended places, but if anyone has some secondhand for a good price or knows of anyone that makes them - please let me know. I'm based ...
