Re: Sonokinetic Woodwinds Ensemble - 24 hour sale at 80% off
Any thoughts about sound that issue from my keyboard should be taken with a grain of salt, but I adored the sound of this ensemble. Cool distinctive instruments.

Re: ProjectSAM: The Free Orchestra
I'm curious and of course all for it. This might be becoming a trend and a way to catch attention and good will in a competitive marketplace. I would assume that NI is all for it too as Red Room's effort and now this require full Kontakt and add value to NI's own aging factory library. It was intere...

Oh you haven't been to the 29th century? Yup shorts and microshorts often of a moderately percussive nature dominate the AI composed music in a tonal system with 1,140 intervals.

Re: Spitfire introduces their Studio Series with Spitfire Studio Strings
Spiccato and Staccato meant the same thing before say 1750 and that was that they weren't legato. Later that century spiccato started evolving into the bouncing meaning. It wasn't used all that often until the 29th century when music got weirder. (Thanks Wiki) Staccato can be used to describe any se...

Re: Spitfire Audio releases British Drama Toolkit
I was watching Game of Thrones and thinking at one point that the music as appropriate and completely generic and boring. It felt like and endless loops of swelling with drums going boom. occasionally they changed key. Didn't know it was called wallpaper music.

Re: Any issues with Spitfire's new player a 1st time buyer should be aware of?
Just a thought, they have some free instruments in the new player that you might try. They are certainly far less complex than the high end stuff, but it should still give some idea. They even have some free strings.

Hey Piet! In my continuing efforts to be off-topic, you were mentioned on a VI-C thread as being one of the best digital music composers or some such. It's not a Grammy, but kinda cool.

Re: "Iconica" - Full Orchestral Library by Steinberg feat. Orchestral Tools
Hum this is an interesting topic I've seen responses from it being raved about to it being a nice starter orchestra. I fall more toward the latter, it certainly doesn't sound as good as say Berlin to me and yes I know who sampled it.

blog about lesser known sales / cheap stuff
Hope its OK to put this here. I love getting cheap interesting stuff when it is made even cheaper by sales. This blog gives me a change to talk about things that actually cost money, just not a lot. Instruments, games, computer stuff... Any interesting sales anyone knows about let me know and I'll t...

Re: Whole Sounds / Baldwin 1954 Parlour Grand (for UVI)
I wish I wasn't so anti-ilok as the Baldwin sound to me means piano probably from hearing one every Sunday for decades. It doesn't cut through like a Yamaha or have that big Bosendorfer sound but a good Baldwin just sounds like a Piano should. I amazed it took this long to professionally sample one....

Not that I have the above gentleman's skills, but this is 100% Inspire Strings... https://soundcloud.com/joe-stevens-16/charismatic-rogue The First Chairs are lovely and the string sections seem to be a good balance between detail and section sound. I'm quite enjoying this collection. Limited choice...

Re: Orchestral Tools / Berlin Orchestra 'Inspire'
It sounds quite lovely. A bit vibratoy on the sustains for strings, but I guess thats in. Could use some more velocity layers on sustains but the XFade works quite well. Doesn't really do ff or pp, but nice from mild soft to mild loud. It has that Berlin sound which if you like it and I do makes the...

Re: Orchestral Tools / Berlin Orchestra 'Inspire'
PDF of articulations and such... The most basic as you expect Legato, Sustain, some type of Staccato. http://www.orchestraltools.com/resources/documents/BO_Inspire.pdf It's my birthday I got it. I'm trying to learn how to write music and this looks perfect for the guy with little knowledge, experien...
