Re: Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra

I haven't had as much time to spend with the library as I would have liked to, but my experience at the moment is good. What I get from this that I don't get from others is that easiness to get a cohesive, balanced sound. I did my demo without touching mix faders and with one EQ on the mixbus, just ...

Re: Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra

A little update after spending this morning composing with this (or at least trying to). The performance of the player is a mess. There has to be some issues with memory management. The RAM use is truly excessive, and my 32GB is not nearly enough for it. I'm not sure even 64GB would be if one would ...

Re: Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra

My experience with a few hours of messing around is a mixed bag. The sound is gorgeous, what's been sampled is very high quality. Like someone stated earlier, I'm not sure if they've sampled enough. Time will tell how it will behave on full compositions. Especially the strings bring a more than welc...

Re: Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra

The only thing that's holding me from preordering - apart from waiting to see and hear the legato video - is the fact that I've already got a ton of orchestral samples which are probably good enough for my needs, and it kinda feels silly to spend 600€ to make them pretty much obsolete. The one thing...

Re: Native Instruments Komplete & Upgrades 50% off

Well this is a bummer. Thought of updating via Native Instruments' own store (and yes, I'm leaning towards the basic Ultimate as well), but it so happens that my account there is a private account, which I was back when I made the account. But now I have a company and would like to add my VAT exempt...

Re: Native Instruments Komplete & Upgrades 50% off

I have the same situation as Guy, upgrading from K10U. The difference between K12U and K12U CE in euros is 90€ (179€ vs 269€). Even though I'll probably end up using them only every now and then in layering, it would feel hard to pass on this...I mean, it can't be that bad, can it?

Re: U-he NKS support sale!

Damn, now you had me going through the Repro demos, and they do sound awesome...I wonder if one can demo Diva again, since I gave it a try a while back and liked what I heard, but Repro sounds also astounding.

Re: U-he NKS support sale!

Have had Diva on my wishlist for a couple of years, so this is probably a good time to be filling wishes.

Re: Orchestral Tools / Time Macro

Did a few bars' worth of quick sketching, and the potential does feel massive. Loved the harp/vibe-combination in the walkthough videos, and they don't disappoint in real life either.

Re: Orchestral Tools / Time Macro

This has to be the first time I've ever preordered a sample library. Even though I don't have anything from Orchestral Tools before this, I've heard almost universal praise for their libraries and the walkthroughs were enough to convince me.

Re: Orchestral Tools / Time Macro

Well that sounds good. I did make a mental note about not buying any new libraries before BF, but this just might be too interesting to pass at that intro price.

Re: Black Friday 2017

Anyone seen any deals on outboard gear here in Europe? All software sales have so far been a bit meh for me, and I think I'm entering the phase where one needs to invest in outboard gear to get his fix.

Re: NI / Soundiron sale - deals inc 15 instruments for £199

Definitely a good deal, unfortunately just when I'm on a tight budget (don't ever buy a car). The whole bundle would be the most sensible choice since I don't have any SI libs than Olympus Elements, but I'll probably have to settle to grabbing Emotional Piano, which I've been eyeing for quite some t...

I almost feel sorry for you for the shitloads of submissions you'll probably get, but I think I'll add to the pile myself :D

Re: New Waves F6 Floating-Band Dynamic EQ

Thanks Piet, that's a really helpful post! The mixing side is probably where I have the most to learn, so this kind of advice is golden.

Re: New Waves F6 Floating-Band Dynamic EQ

I also grabbed it a while back, didn't have a dynamic EQ so this was actually bought for a need :D

Have been tinkering with it and like it, it's quite easy to use even with little previous knowledge about dynamic EQ's.
