Re: VSL / Synchron Harp

So what do ya’all think. The original Vsl harp is in just about everything I write. How does the synchron compare? There’s just something ‘magical’ about their original harp. It sits so perfectly in the mix all the time. You can make it sound like the original harp from 20 years ago if you want or ...

Re: Orchestral Tools: Tom Holkenborg's Percussion

I know he wasn't going for a traditional sound. But It's common for developers to hide behind the word "cinematic" for percussion and I'm tired of it. They are like "We have a lot of exotic/ethnic percussion in our catalog. We didn't know how to play them so we hit the center of the ...

Re: Orchestral Tools: Tom Holkenborg's Percussion

To explain myself nicely, I'll give you an example. Here is how my custom davul (tupan) library sound: etc. You certainly have a valid point - but there's a good chance Holkenborg wasn't going for a traditional tupan sound - but instead wanted one aspect of the tupan (the main strike) to integrate ...

Re: VSL Synchron Elite Strings (Chamber Ensemble)

I was thinking along the same lines as Linos while listening: this is not a great advertisement for the Elite Strings. Unless it is, in which case my decision on whether to buy this library or not has received another serious and possibly final push towards 'no'. Well Piet, you and Linos are totall...

Re: VSL Synchron Elite Strings (Chamber Ensemble)

I had a reply all ready to post in the latest piano thread on VI-C where, as per usual, most people express their enthusiasm for the Synchron pianos, an enthusiasm I don’t share at all. To put it very mildly. In the end, I decided not to post because Ben and especially Dietz always get very annoyed...

OK, so the download code not the serial number?
I'll try that.
I wonder why I don't see a serial number for them in Native Access. Do you have that issue also?

Re: Modern Scoring Strings (aka LASS 3)

Hehe.. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 12 hour walkthrough, review video of this library once it's released, by an independent reviewer on YouTube :) Honestly, given all the advanced programming and intricate features with MSS, I would hope that Andrew would do an hour-long 'quickstart' video. .

Re: Modern Scoring Strings (aka LASS 3)

Yeah, the celli... they seem to excite the room too much. I agree that the demo video does use an unfortunate reverb/ambience setting for the celli specifically. However at 8:30 in the Shorts video, they show the celli shorts bare mic settings so there is a chance to see into the real celli sound a ...

Re: Modern Scoring Strings (aka LASS 3)

I can count on one hand the times I’ve used ART in LASS. I think I played with it once and just didn’t get along with it. That's my experience and likewise pretty much everyone else I know. Andrew and Sebastian are very detail oriented and have the tendency to obsess over some things that are of li...

Re: Audio Ollie / Nashville Scoring Strings

Just a word of warning in case you have not thought of it, this library on many patches wants a negative delay so you have to ok with working this way. There is a patch offset on shorts to make it easier to play in but still you have make adjustments. There are only two differing delays. Most are 1...

Re: VSL Synchron Strings Pro

Q. Some of the presets that VSL made require two keyswitch notes to arrive at the target articulation, how do you deal with this in your DAW when working with this library ? Any suggestions/tips regarding how best to organize the dimension trees, ..etc. ? Are you making your own custom presets, or ...

I've found them to be very useful. So far I've used them with most of my other string libraries and they have mixed well with each of them. Of course, the Synchron Player is ace. Here is 30 Seconds of the shorts of Synchron Strings Pro alone. https://www.dropbox.com/s/cdvalgabv7884ar/SSP%20Shorts%20...

Re: LiquidSonics Cinematic Rooms

Hey Jack, For the piano, I am using the default patch as you load the plugin - I think, it's The Amethyst Hall and for strings, I used the Bowed Hall. I did not touch a thing on those presets. I am using the basic version, not professional. Thanks Tanuj, I think these examples sound as good as any ...

Hmmm... I rather like both of Tanuj's demos. Well crafted and lively. Perhaps a tad much ambience for me, but that is maybe what he likes to hear. You can't fault a person for what he wishes to envision.
