I’ll have to re-read your post Guy, as I thought Lemur had done all the work, not you *scratching my head*

Re: Omnisphere 2.5: Hardware Synth Integration and double voice architecture
Erik - yes, I’ve sort of moved away from the boutique idea for that very reason. The System 1m feels like a good possible compromise though. Out of interest, are you on Windows? Are your CPU struggles related to Granular patches? I’d have thought that these new patches needn’t be that CPU intensive...

Re: Omnisphere 2.5: Hardware Synth Integration and double voice architecture
They’re one momznt in the video when Eric is actually comparing Sub 37 audio output to the Omni one hés tweaking. Guy : those boutique have really tiny controls. One better choose his right hw option : the ine with the most controls/sliders ? Oh, the drama !!! Now one ´ll have to pounder sounds (Omn...

This is so so brilliant ! And free, btw,for us Omni 2 users.
Don't have any of this hardware and do not plan to grab one in the next future, unless I win at the €million or something. And I would be
Hardware companies gonna love Eric because of this innovation, aren't they ?

Re: Prophet X
Ok Mario, thanx. Don't own many 8Dio libs, I used to grab some at sales 4 or 5 years ago (Basstard, Wrench, Alien Drum...) before I realized there was other brands (it took me ages to even know there was something else beside EastWest and VSL, mind you !).The biggest one I have is Adagio Viola, whic...

Re: Prophet X
It's not fully sample based, it has digital (DSP) oscillators as well (like those in Prophet-12). The filters sound absolutely yummy on this one. But yeah it only has 150 GB of samples because 8dio cannot sample things efficiently, haha. :P Could you elaborate on this comment Mario ? As I said I’ld...

Re: Prophet X
Yup, no more circuits in Dave Smith synths but pure mojo - or snake oil. Just kidding :-) I’m not sure about this product. Especially given 8Dio updates history. Don’t know if you’ve read it : this X would allow you to import your own samples - in december 18. And there ´s another 50gig to import ad...

I have 1st iteration and it’s really amazingly good, was the first time I could put the « magical » epithet newt to a plug in.
But you can overdo things easily.

Re: Orchestral Tools Metropolis Ark 3
Thanx Jaap !
I've made up my mind since it's became too pricey after the intro offer, anyway.
I ended up buying virtual pianos and virtual synths rather than orchestral offerings - I already have too much of them for the use I actually have.

Re: Vengeance Producer Suite - Avenger synth [1.3.1 FM cross modulation out now]
YEs, I like Massive a lot, I mean programming it.
I concure with you Guy, about Repro 1 not being that easy - the modulation section. Avenger and Omni have really something to say in the GUI department, for sure :-)

Re: Zebra Nordsund - The Unfinished
Interestingly enough, one day I made 2 short tracks with Matt's soundsets : one for Omni, one for Zebra. My best musician's friend - for lack of a better word - told me the Omni thing whas ok but the Zebra one sounded "like these Workstations from the early 90's that tries to mimick analogness&...

Re: Spitfire Audio - Ólafur Arnalds Chamber Evolutions
I smiled at SA marketing their new libs (LCO or Arnalds Chamber EVOs or Orch Swarm) as added layers of details and realism to Sable/Chamber strings. Because, well, Sable was demoed succesfully by Paul for an efficient way to add realism and detail to Albion. So what's next ? Libs to add details and ...

Re: Whole Sounds / Baldwin 1954 Parlour Grand (for UVI)
Interesting timbre but I must say I'm not convinced by the way it plays, specially in the mid to low registers. And a bit limited in its dynamic range with at times some annoying round-robins that ruin the experience of the very limited player I am. Disclaimer :I've mostly (badly) played for the las...
