My GF bought me dominus for my birthday :3

I didn't miss out on ALL the black Friday deals.

ohh paoling, you sly dog you! Just as awesome as I thought it would be - though the UI is different than I expected, I can see advantages to making it that way.

Soniccouture is knocking an additional 20% off of their Black Friday discounted items for current users of their software. If you own any of their libs, you should have received a discount code this morning via email.

At 149$ they are priced very fairly. I do rather like their sound too. If Spitfire Chamber Strings are too expensive for you this might be an option.
This one's killing me. Affordable, sort of, and they sound great... SCS is expensive enough (even on sale) that I don't have to concern myself with it. But this L&S set is truly tempting after watching the two v2 demos.

It's the same for me. Beautiful Chamber Strings at that pricepoint are very tempting. The question for me is how comprehensive the library is. Does it cover all the bases or are there many things you can't do with it? Are the staccato shorts enough, for example, or are spiccati/detache articulations sorely missed? It's these concerns that stop me from buying.

The staccato does have a slider for adjusting the note lengths (apparently new in v2), and if you watched the "Intuitive Playability" video it seems pretty amazing how well these strings just play on the keyboard without having to input any CC data whatsoever. This sort of thing very much appeals to me.

I dunno: Re the full gamut of articulations (AFAIK there's no portamento per se either), there seems to be a trend (think Performance Samples for example) toward specialization, libraries that focus on doing a finite number of things supremely well but don't try to cover absolutely everything.

The other thing that draws me to L&S is the way they've continued to update and improve the library at no cost to current license owners. They strike me as folks who truly care about their art & craft; high on quality and low on market hype.

If anyone knows when the $149 holiday ends, I'd really like to know.

Seriously considering this...
Apologies Alex, I missed this one, thanks for the heads up.

I think that'll be the last OP update here unless anyone spots anything else quick, I won't attempt to take them down one by one, that way madness lies. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

..and one more, 20% off Avid updates over at Sweetwater - https://www.sweetwater.com/shop/pro-tools/ . For those of us who more or less have to do this, I understand you can add this any time to your plan and it extends by a year, and for those ordering overseas it can also save on VAT.

Not quite Black Friday, but wasn't sure if it was worth starting a separate thread over:

FabFilter has just announced their 25% holiday discount for their bundles. https://www.fabfilter.com/shop/

I personally started with the mastering bundle some time ago, and since with FabFilter the more of their products you own the deeper the discount on their other products, it was an easy slippery slope to acquire almost everything else they offer.

Yes! I finally jumped on the FabFilter train with this deal. Got the Pro bundle, so I should be set for now when it comes to mixing tools. (Yeah right!)
