That's the price for new buyers - I can't see an upgrade price. But pretty sure that's cheaper than my upgrade from Legacy anyway.

The Triton came out past my time of gigging so I never got my hands on the hardware version. Is the software version still sort of retro awesome? The hardware was well received back in the day if I recall correctly.

Re: Korg Collection 6 $199
The Triton is said to be very authentic and is well liked. But my feeling is that the software today is so much less meaningful than the hardware was back then. It is / was a workstation workhorse that did it all brilliantly and doesn't have - AFAIK - anything special synthesis wise. What is unique to the sound at this point? The answer in these sorts of things tends to be "some famous presets", most of which tie it in to an era.Lawrence wrote: Jun 24, 2026 2:19 am The Triton came out past my time of gigging so I never got my hands on the hardware version. Some of those analogs in the collection now would be awfully nice. I'm in the usual position. I know I don't need any of collection, but a lot of it sounds gorgeous.

Nice price! I have picked my cherries over the years, Mono/Poly, MS-20, M1 and Wavestation (with its fabulous "Slow pad" preset) so I'm good.
Time is life, use it wisely.

Re: Korg Collection 6 $199
in the same boat with Thomas, over time I've collected the ones I really wanted - MS-20, Polysix,Mono/Poly, Wavestation, MDE-X, and M1, and the M1 doesn't get a lot of use. It might be interesting to pick up their interpretation of the 2600 and Odyssey, maybe the PS-3300, but I can't justify the cost or disk space

Now hold on a cotton pickin' minute.
Upgrade from 2 Korg products for £88?! Literally any two? Or is my Legacy Collection just one?
https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/ ... G-Products
EDIT - Looks like my license counts as one product. However, there is a 1 product upgrade for £133
https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/ ... RG-Product
OR - cunning - I buy an MDE-X for £22 then I technically have two licenses, and get it for £110.
I have asked Plugin Boutique for, ya know, the greater good.

Absolute steal. Worth the price of admission for the Triton, Trinity, EP1, and SGX2 alone. Everything else is a nice bonus (particularly the M1 and ARP2600). KCollection is one of the best bundles out there, IMO, seriously top-quality software instruments.

I'm 100% convinced these are all excellent instruments, but I'm less convinced I need them! Where do you find them invaluable in the studio?progger wrote: Jun 26, 2026 8:19 pm Absolute steal. That PG-3300 is making me drool, even though I know I'm unlikely to explore its depths. It somehow looks more friendly that most of the big modulars - you can so quickly see the four main sections, three of which are identical sets of oscillators, filters, envelopes etc. Visually it's such a good, clear design it makes it look Fischer Price next to a Moog Modular - but in a good way! Also those temperament adjustments look unique, and raise interesting possibilities for manually tweaking / automating just one note of a chord.

Re: Korg Collection 6 $199
Well, I actually find the Triton extremely useful for writing while on the road – I don't want to take external SSDs with me when I'm living out of hotel rooms (which is a lot), but I also want some decent sounds to work with. Triton has a reasonably phenomenal set of all the workhorse sounds, as does the Roland XV5080, so I frequently write and demo just using those and various other lean virtual instruments while traveling. But I've grown to like them so much that I'll use them at home in proper productions, too.
The SGX2 is, honestly, one of the best all-in-one acoustic piano packages out there at the moment, IMO. Very playable, sound wonderful, highly tweakable, and lots of options. Same goes for EP1, it's probably my favorite Rhodes/Wurli engine after Keyscape and VTines/Reeds.
Korg's ARP2600 is probably my favorite software version of that fine instrument, and as a big Herbie and Joe Z fan, I find it quite valuable.

Re: Korg Collection 6 $199
I doubt you'll regret it, especially at the current price! It's one of those rare software bundles that I grow more fond of and find more valuable as time goes on, it really is a gem.
I absolutely love all these software recreations of the digital synths I always wanted as a lad in the '90s but couldn't afford. All the Korg and Roland stuff, the various Yamaha incarnations (the new "Swayed" SY77 is awesome, btw!), I love playing with all these sounds and so many of them sound like records and soundtracks I've always loved right out of the gate... since they're what were used for them!

It's quite a bounty, isn't it? And via Plugin Boutique I also got GForce's Axxess thrown in too, which quite the feisty little thing.progger wrote: Jun 28, 2026 12:00 pm I doubt you'll regret it, especially at the current price! It is the PS 3300 that seemed the most lovely to me, some genuinely strange but useable stuff in the browser to whet the appetite. Sophisticated vintage.
Now, this time - no, really, honest guv, no word of a lie, never mind all the other times I said, absolutely definitely, for sure, 100% straight as a dye, seriously deffo - I have enough synths.

Perhaps this is the real reason for the slow death of the forum, the consumerist focus.

I don't know, Georg, but at least food for thought. I got something more than just consumerist advice out of the exchange from this thread. Eye of the beholder and all that, I s'pose.

Consumerism is precisely what drives the massive forums out there, and this one has relatively little of it compared to GS, VIC, KVR, etc, as far as I can tell.GR Baumann wrote: Jun 29, 2026 1:34 pm Perhaps this is the real reason for the slow death of the forum, the consumerist focus.

Tools and toys are fun but I care much more about the artistry and craftsmanship of this business. I do enjoy talking about and recommending tools that I enjoy working with and the reasons I enjoy working with them... but I also work full-time in music and write a large amount of music, so the consumerism is not my focus most of the time.
