After releasing AEVAL Felt Piano in April und BRIAR Music Box in May, it's time for my third instrument plugin: CAELUM Celesta.

I’m a composer with a passion for programming and recently decided to create a series of VSTs from my personal collection of instruments. One of my most cherished instruments of that collection is a Japanese celesta. When I bought it, they told me it's the last remaining celesta Yamaha has for sale in Europe at that point. I guess I was lucky.
Compared to the more traditional (and incredibly expensive) German Schiedmayer celestas, the Japanese one plays more like a grand piano, with the hammers hitting the metal plates from below. It also features a somewhat cleaner, fuller, more "pristine" sound.
Before I owned that celesta, I tried out different celesta VSTs and never was 100% satisfied. What I aimed to create is an instrument that sounds more like it was recorded in a home studio, with intimate close up mic positioning and not a perfect, sterile sound which I tended to find with those other VSTs.
CAELUM Celesta has 27 presets that range from a more "pure", "traditional" celesta sound to ambient and experimental settings. Just as with my other instruments, there are lots of ways to shape the sound and add mechanical and performance noises, such as the fingers hitting the keys, the bench creaking, the player breathing.
CAELUM also contains a glockenspiel layer ("chime") as well as a music box layer ("fairydust"). They allow you to change the sound in a way no other celesta plugins offer, as far as I know.
Its interface is inspired by old fairytale books with the "book cover" presenting four of the most important controls and the preset browser. If you want to control all details, you can "open the book" by clicking on the gear icon in the bottom right corner.
