Finally an iLok that looks durable and, while not as small as the little stub I'd like, is at least significantly smaller. No word yet on when it's available.

I can't think why I'd need one unless of course (silly me) any new apps and plugins won't be registered on my iLok 2

If you don't use it mobile, Ray, I'd say you definitely don't. If you're one of those many with broken bits of plastic that hold many thousands of dollars of goods and have it jutting out of your laptop, I'd say you definitely do.

I hope they don't find a way to require the purchase of an iLok3 - it feels like I just bought the 2...

I agree on the form factor, but mine doesn't leave the studio these days, so I'm in no hurry.
