Here they go again... grasping for my wallet. I think they'll succeed this time, been having my eyes (and ears) on the EMT 250. Have demoed it several times and now with my two $25 coupons I think it's almost irresistible.

James, FWIW, the Trident is one of the few I don't think they got quite right. The Softube version is better IMHO.

For my uses it just works. A little midrange boost on any virtual instrument or synth by ear and magic. Saying that, I'm sure allot of these original UAD plugins could use v2's. Seems UAD EQ plugins are really a matter of taste. Some prefer the Harrison, some the Neve, some API, Manley, or Pultec. etc.

if you haven't, try the API 5000s. I think they nailed those and for top end, the Maag EQ 4 has something special going on IMHO.

I have never been a big fan of the API. It's very good on Guitar, drums, rock, etc. but slightly grainy to me that just does not suit my taste.
I have 2 channels of real Neve hardware as well so I always compare to those.

Just picked up the UA Moog Filter before the UA sale ends, with the last coupon I had, only $75.

You are gonna LOVE the Moog Filter! When I bought it I thought it would be a novelty, but it can be subtle as well, and very musical!
