Avid Link 2025.5 has been released, so that may be a sign that a new Pro Tools update is finally around the corner.

Well we are days away from June, and it's long been said that's the month of the next Pro Tools release.

It will have been 8 months since the last update, and then another 4 before the previous one. Updates used to be quarterly. The next one better be good!

But I can't get too worked up. Since they dropped the reinstatement penalty, it's fine to just coast along until there's an update actually meaningful to you and worth paying for. Just don't rely on any of the freebies that are tied to the support plan!
