Pro Tools Forte - batch importer and exporter
Posted: Jun 03, 2025 10:40 am
A new app from Avid that integrates with Pro Tools. There's separate Import and Export parts - with Import it can take a bunch of WAVs and turn them into a prepped session all routed and ready to go, with Export it can create batches of mixes.
It is included with those who have active support plans or subs, or you can buy the full version outright for €299 (20% off with code AVID20).
EDIT - also you can buy individual Import or Export modules for €199
EDIT 2 - the above prices are without ongoing updates, for lifetime updates it's €499. So first look was "oh that's pretty good for €199" but that was just to Import. All in it turns out to be €499.
EDIT 3 - Tope from Avid has added "If the account is eligible, once it's in the customer's account, It is perpetual. It will not expire regardless of Pro Tools Subscription or Perpetual license. And it will be available moving forward like other Pro Tools rewards". So if I understand correctly that means you'd only need to buy it if you never plan on updating Pro Tools again.
EDIT 4 - Ah, major drawback - Pro Tools subscribers / support planners just get this very limited version described below:
The Pro Tools subscriber / planners version does have some pretty big limitations:
Forte Import: up to 16 tracks per session
Forte Export: up to 2 mix versions per session
Unlimited sessions in both cases
EDIT 5 - 2 mix versions per session - honestly you wouldn't bother, would you? So only the full paid version makes sense to me.
