It feels like the new default view is heading towards becoming useable. The new arrangement of libraries can be drag and dropped like the classic view, and is quicker to scroll through and work with. Performance seems good and things generally are getting slicker.ADDED New Kontakt Header drop down menu in place of old File menu
ADDED New icons in place of the old text tabs
ADDED New Play Icon brings the user always to the Instrument view
ADDED Some View Menu items moved to Kontakt Status Bar
ADDED Side panel browsing products now displayed in a list
ADDED Ability to custom order libraries with drag and drop in the side panel browser in Default View
I think what would tip it over the edge into being useable is more stuff in the top left inspector - specifically the midi channel and audio outputs. Then I'll likely switch to the new default view and dispense with instrument headers by default.
Note - some of my older libraries don't have images in the new side pane and have their names truncated. I now seem to own a library called 90's Retro Trump which is an alarming prospect. This workaround was posted in KVR by aMUSEd for those who want to upload their own images:
You just need to make one with the dimensions 1280x212px saved as NKS2_hardware_banner.webp and place it in the NI resources/Image/library name folder.
