Has anyone found an alternative to Spat? I'm finally putting my old system to bed which includes Spat V3. Curious about any new spatial developments.

I haven't. Especially for modelled instruments like Sample Modelling Strings nothing comes close to it IMO.
I upgraded my Studio PC a few weeks ago to Win 11 and also tried Cubase 15. I always thought this will be the end of SPAT but surprisingly it isn't.
SPAT is my last vst 2 plugin that is activated and it works. Albeit it crashes CB during the first start of a project. Then starting again the second time it stays stable. Very weird and nothing one can understand. So I try to establish a habit to deactivate SPAT instances before closing the project. Then everything is ok. If I activate the SPAT instances after the start there is no problem so far. Also I try to render everything that uses SPAT as soon as possible and deactivate it. So it stays usable somehow.
How this genius type of software hasn't been further developed as a vst is beyond me. The only reason why it wasn't a no brainer for a lot of composer/producers when it came out might have been the high price tag.

Wow, that's interesting Markus. Are you using Spat V3 or Revolution?

I don’t think there is one. There are a number of plugins that claim to do what SPAT does, but testing them quickly reveals they don’t even come close. The latest one is Convex Audio’s Atrium. I haven’t tested this one yet because until yesterday, there wasn’t a demo version. There is now though, so I might give it a try one of these days. (Based on the video demos however, I'm not expecting much.)

SPAT v3 it is.
After reading the experiences form others about Revolution I didn't want to take the time to try it out only to find out it's too cumbersome.
