I tried it, it sounds nice, but I have soooo many nice pianos already I cannot justify pulling the trigger.

I’ve had this around for a while-do you guys use it as your end of mastering chain limiter?

Re: VSTBuzz deal / 80% off of Gospel Musicans' Vintage Keys

Love the NeoSoul Rhodes. Would you say it's your favorite Rhodes emu, Jay? Yes, but a few points. 1. I don't own Keyscape. I played it briefly at Steve Porcaro's studio and was impressed by the amount of different kinds of excellent Rhodes sounds, but nothing that made me "have to have it." 2. I pl...

'To rowland' should become an officially recognized verb. Meaning: making damn fine product videos.
Thanks, Guy!

Re: VSL Synchron Strings I

Well they are supposed to send it to me to review and as always, once I play it I will make my own assessment because even though there are lots of negative opinions from people I respect, I know that my personal taste can be quite different. Not a believer in the idea that there is such a thing or ...

Pablo, I love CSS (and HS) but this sounds good too. But very different sound, so I think it comes down to your taste.

Gotta run, only listened to the first three minutes. That is indeed quite nice. I would like to hear it without the decca tree though because this too wet for me.

Re: VSL Synchron Strings I

Part of the appeal to me is that it promises to be a library that requires far less keyswitching or multiple articulations than most and more responsive to real time playing, like Samplemodeling instruments and some other newer ones. I feel like performance legato patches from spitfire are the ones...

Re: Hollywood Choirs

The modwheel switches between dynamic layers and increases/decreases vibrato, although there is not that much vibrato since a poll of Classical composers apparently didn't want it and that is how EW decided to go. http://www.talkclassical.com/13016-vibrato-straight-tone-choral.html. Oh, that IS int...

Re: Hollywood Choirs

Hopefully it's smooth out some of the touching velocity, but would be most useful is actually making the modwheel do something significant I'm not trying to pick on you J, you are one of the reasons I dumped a crap ton of money in east west products for my first VI purchase after sample tank. it wa...

I have zero interest in making a "fair example." I am not trying to sell libraries.
And yes, Donald Trump notwithstanding, your exact words DO matter.

Read Guy's reply to you. I am now done.

Kyle, you didn't initially make that distinction. You said there was "no noticeable difference."

Your exact words, and empirically wrong. That is all I wanted to address.

Re: Hollywood Choirs

Kyle, you are simply wrong. I have both. You open Symphonic Choirs and load an instrument and start to play it and you will hear a certain sound. You then do the same with Hollywood Choirs and you hear a different sound. That is all I said, my example illustrates it, and that is as far as I am willi...

Re: Hollywood Choirs

jay I know as well as you do, that example was worthless. It's quite clear you just copy pasted the midi, and didn't tweak whatever default WB's you were using. you could spend a few minutes getting the same quality out of both, that in a mix would be completely interchangeable. Especially with the...

Re: Arturia V Collection 6

It depends what you're after really Jay. u-he really are the masters of exact specific details of a model. And with repro-1 / 5, they are just gorgeously rich. But of course that's just one model of one synth. Personally I don't so much care that its an exact emulation, but I do care that is sounds...

Re: Arturia V Collection 6

Y Much has been made of their analogue emulations not being up to, say, u-he standards and it's true there's a difference, but its not always in-your-face apparent. There's a richness about repro-1 and 5 that Arturia don't quite nail along with the precise authenticity of the filters, but as often ...

My daughter went to school with his daughter and I met him a couple of times and he seemed nice. She went to his house and said he was sweet to her.

And obviously, a great, great rock musician.
