Re: Steinberg 50% off sale
Finally figured it out-sort of user error but with my view of the sale page, it wasn’t clear that you could scroll down to the updates for versions other than for C12. Weird page sizing but it’s all there (including mine for $99.)
Thanks for the help Frank!

Re: Hits - made easy!
The big winners in the California gold rush weren’t the hopeful gold miners, they were the merchants who sold them picks and shovels.
Many more merchants making money than musicians in the music biz, and even a lot of them are struggling.

So yeah, it’s weird. I don’t see what you see, Frank. When I click on updates, the only one available to me is from 12 to 13. Very strange glitch.

Re: Steinberg 50% off sale
Strangely, an update discount seems to have disappeared.
I was planning to update from 10.5 to 13 and I saw a price of $99. Now when I check the site, the only update I see for Cubase is from 12-13. Did mine vanish or am I missing something?

What are the best and worst things about the Spitfire Symphony Orchestra? At $315 (with the 50% discount) it seems pretty inexpensive.

Re: Steinberg 50% off sale
Good timing for Finale users. If you own some of the sale products and log in, you get vouchers that give some really steep discounts. In my case - presumably as a Cubase 13 user - Wavelab Pro and Absolute 6 are both £127, RRP £424 (Absolute 6 is Halion and a large suite of other instruments). Dori...

My interest here would be that I can upgrade from C 10.5 to 13 for $99.
Don’t need it at the moment but I’ll buy it and have it in waiting. The price certainly seems reasonable.

Re: Universal Audio is giving away a Native channel strip
Please pardon the OT, not sure it’s worth a thread:
I had the hardware LA-2A on a PCI-e card for years and it was my favorite compressor. There seems to be some warmth missing in the Native version (which I now have.) It could be my imagination, it could be a different mic, dunno.

I have an all singing and dancing studio machine and a workstation laptop which I keep up to date for travel and as a quick swap out in the studio in case of trouble. 1. I need tens of TB of backup and over the last few years the dream was realised - Dropbox Business. I shared with 5 colleagues, and between us we had about 400TB of space. It was badged as unlimited, but in practice it had one - they just added whatever you needed. Everything went up there, it was g...

Do you use ear buds?
In my continuing quests to figure out what the most used formats for listening to music are and to do the best mixes I can despite challenged hearing, I’ve recently acquired a set of Apple’s Beats earbuds (two sets actually, one a gift.). Anecdotally, I feel like buds and car speakers are probably t...

Re: Small but significant studio improvements
I see. Nice enhancements you have there!
I do have multiple people in so I have a 4 pair headphone amp, and it gets use.
I’ve recently purchased the Slate headphone system. I’ve yet to have enough time spent with them to report back, but they’re interesting.

Do you ever have need for multiple headphones for singers or clients, Piet? If so, do you use a headphone amplifier?

I have the classic Albion, and I very very rarely use it. Never bought One though there have probably been some interim offers to upgrade/purchase at a discount.
