GeoShred Studio (MPE!)
Apparently it was on IOS before and now comes to Desktop as well. Jordon Rudess is as a technical advisor on board. Guy, this will interest you perhaps, SWAM Instruments enabled as well. The GeoSWAM and Naada models are available in GeoShred as In-App-Purchases (IAPs). They may be purchased in the S...

There are lyrics that live by the music.
There is music that lives by the lyrics.

MPE Keyboard experience?
Does anyone around here have experience with it?
Perhaps even with the Korg Keystage.
Arturia has a MK III Version of the Keylab out now, though not upgraded with MPE to my understanding.
I consider selling my Keylab MK II 61 and upgrade to a MPE board eventually.

Wolfgang Rihm RIP
I meant to post that earlier, a great educator and influential composer has left us a few days ago. I had the opportunity and nearly joined his composition class back then, and I very much liked his position on Boulez and Stockhausen, which is a longer story, to cut it short, piano was more importan...

Dan Phillips here, from Korg R&D in California, the team that created the ARP 2600 plug-in. :D Who would have seen that one coming, Dan Phillips in da house! Hi Dan, so good to see you're still around. Back then Jerry K. was the marketing side, when the original burgundy red beauty w...

Re: Small but significant studio improvements
 All I read about that long established cmc2 was positive. It is like the Connemara peat smoked Irish single malt :), very competitive with much much higher priced single malts, it literally ticks all the boxes for a ridiculous price tag. Below 300 Euro in Germany makes it a no brainer. ht...

Another product of the post war baby boom
0m:38s Another product of the post war baby boom 1980! We met with friends, lit up, and listened to entire LP's like "The Spliff Radio Show" and I mean, really loud, Klipsch and all. Three of the members were already playing together in the political rock cabaret Lokomotive Kreuzberg (foun...

Satechi NVMe 40Gbps enclosure
IN case anyone is looking for en external enclosure, The Satechi is excellent, w/r speed around 3.1 GB/s on TB4 with a WD SN850x, no thermal throttling, I transferred 1.5 TB for a test and transfer speed was consistent. There is a problem with idle temperatures in my view. I had 53-55 degrees celsiu...

Re: NI Summer of Sound 2024
It was admittedly a little painful, but I left NI behind a year ago, loosing a handful of much loved libraries, but thankfully not heavily invested. The rest of the bloat, I do not miss, not at all.

Re: Adventures with Omnisphere
I am hooked since it was called the Atmosphere Dream Synth back in 2002. My main Logic preset consists of one track Omnisphere and a -0,1 limiter on the stereo bus, this is always my starting point, the pool of inspiration is endless. I too make extensive use of the recent FLOW feature, a game chang...

Re: Adventures with Omnisphere
Wrote that 2012 on KVR: Example, search for BASSY DOWNBEAT ARP put it to slot one, set Omnisphere to LIVE mode. Now use the same Patch and put it into Slot 2-5. On Slot one leave as is, but on slot 2,3,4,5 use the Orb, switch off inertia, so the orb will not move but stay in your chosen position, se...

Yes, Chuck Choi - I think he's also the guy who makes that fancy touchscreen controller everyone is drooling about, but only RC people get :) I've heard good things about that box and the touchscreen controller is awesome. I'd get that in a heartbeat, just for the joy of toying around with it. :D S...

Re: Synapse Audio Legend HZ released
Oh wow :D Thanks folks! Utterly outrageous price tag for midi faders, no company information on website, hence no business to be taken serious as far as I am concerned. But influencer marketing is everything these days, and now that Hans promoted the product, undoubtedly a shovel will be required by...

Re: Hollywood Strings 2
Thanks, as I have no comparison other than live experience (long ago!), I was wondering how others perceive that "weird sound“. I think you described that very well Linus. I love what I heard about the bass harmonics, which is a very niche sound of course. That being said, I don't mind a certai...
