Re: Spitfire APEX sale / 50% off

I understand that it makes sense to use the tools that work best for you, and for the majority of folks that will be the individual instruments. If that lets you write and produce great music then I think that's all that matters. Maybe for the majority of folks here , but for the majority of folks ...

Re: Spitfire APEX sale / 50% off

So I started buying libraries that recorded ensembles of players, not just 1st Vln, but 1st Vln with flutes or oboes or kazoos. Cinesamples "Orch" was the library that convinced me that I would need sections, and section combinations. The same thing applies to dry vs recording the room. O...

Re: Spitfire APEX sale / 50% off

That is a perfect explanation Linos. I rarely have occasion to need a concert hall sound but you make a persuasive musical argument in its favor.

It’s called talent :)

Re: Spitfire APEX sale / 50% off

Thank you Jay. It would be an interesting exercise for sure. It's not a comparison with the Hollywood Orchestra, but this video shows what I like about BBCSO pretty well, compared to the Cinematic Studio Series: https://youtu.be/eUkG4XZ4Vyo?t=78 I really like the cohesive 3d sound of the BBCSO vers...

Re: Spitfire APEX sale / 50% off

2. No other library I have can provide the depth and 3d-ish concert hall sound quite like BBCSO. But you only get that once you blend several of its instruments and sections. 1.True of every single orchestral samples library in existence :) 2. I only have the Discover version, but if the is true mo...

Re: Spitfire APEX sale / 50% off

1. Rob, in my opinion BBCSO is a very good library indeed. Just not for all purposes. 2. No other library I have can provide the depth and 3d-ish concert hall sound quite like BBCSO. Re: Incoming / Straight Ahead "La Clarinette En Rose"

Is that a default, Rob? Meaning that when you release a longer note it does it automatically and you can’t get rid of it? Also, what do you think of the tone and what are you using presently for jazz/blues clarinet? don't have this clarinet Larry, I was just referring to the demos... they keep doin...

Re: Elicenser Discontinued Jan 1 2022

Already transitioned, and so far everything works. Old projects and templates open like before. All I had to do was to select download and install locations. Everything else was taken care of automatically. Quite impressive. I don’t yet seen the green dot that tells me I can make the transition yet.

Re: ROLI files for administration

Innovation is all well and good an all, but it has to also be A Good And Popular Thing in and of itself. I know there were real seaboard devotees out there, I get why, but it always remained pretty niche. And I think part of the reason for that is that they felt like a dead whale. At a trade show I...

Re: Cherry Audio Polymode (Polymoog) $19

The Moog factory was in Williamsville, NY, near Buffalo. That was a long drive from my home base of Binghamton. I was there at least four times, and they replaced practically every part in my PolyMoog, bless them. Still didn’t work. Buying two was never an option even if it had been efficacious. Th...

Re: Cherry Audio Polymode (Polymoog) $19

I have no history with the Memorymoog whatsoever, only read about it. I got it now for $19 and it's a different beast isn't it? I really like the architecture of the signal path and the mixer "sends" from the various places in the chain makes editing it really fun. The most fun I've had f...

Re: Cherry Audio Polymode (Polymoog) $19

I have and love the Cherry Audio Memorymode, and just used it extensively on a project. Does this bring much to the table that I don’t have with the Memorymode, Arturia Moog Modular, Repro 1 and 5?

Re: The 8dio flash sale thread

I really like the Fluffy Audio woodwinds sound better for non-symphonic work, personally. I just wish the number of articulations of the flute, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon was consistent, and I wish they had an english horn, at least.

The patch allows muting. What was unusual though was that she used a felt strip.

Re: IK MODO Bass and Drum up to 73% off

I think you’d like it Jay, it really is very good and terrific realism. Why not try the demo? I did just that.I was tempted to buy it, even more tempted to buy just the $39 version that just has the Fender Precision and Jazz basses, but when I compared it to those in other libraries, it just wasn't...

Re: Spitfire / Appassionata ("Impulse Legato" Strings)

I think this sounds just great and I can buy it for $164, which is tempting. But I am so in love with Afflatus and its legatos are just so playable, that I am not sure I will pull the trigger. I have until February 10 to decide though. The other thing that tempts me is presumably how well it will bl...

Full disclosure - I own MODO Bass. It's really good, and I never use it. OK, what do you turn to instead? Either Trillian or - usually - the real bass hanging on the wall behind me. Ah, thanks. I have several I like, the Chocolate Audio, ArtVista Tony Newton basses, Pettinhouse, and Trillian of cou...

I always have been, but in recent years I have rarely still used it. The Sampler, formerly EXS24, version though, not the Kontakt version.

The venerable Nagarjuna quoted the Buddha: "Only two things are certain in life. One: You will die. Two: You don't know when". In that sense I shall do those projects in 2022 that I always wanted to do, before time may run out. You never know! Yep. It's why I continue to write songs and p...

Whoa, thank you Laura, they said they would notify name, but they didn't. 2.1 fixes it so that Articulation Sets work with either the All-In-One or individual instrument articulations again.
