Re: Omnisphere 2.5: Hardware Synth Integration and double voice architecture
I had a look at the list of synths supported earlier. Seems that my Novation Bass Station II (currently gathering dust leaning again my desk) is compatible, so I filled out the form for the public beta.

Re: NI Kontakt - update to 5.8.0
Having just had to install Kontakt and all my libraries again on a new system, I’d be happy with a half decent way of shifting the library tabs about. You know, a way that means you don’t have to spend half an hour sllllllooowly dragging one tab from top to bottom of the list. Besides that I’m happy...

Re: New: Woodchester Piano from Fracture Sounds
I downloaded it today and spent a bit of time with it.
It’s really nice. I like the “atmosphere” layers and the “colour” control works really well to.
I’ll be using it loads.

Re: Avid Pro Tools 2018 Released
I almost downloaded it today but thought better of it since I’m mid project. Slight tangent but I recently got myself a 4K screen which is absolutely brilliant. PT looks great on the Mac but under W10 it falls foul of some issue PT has with scaling on Windows at 4K. I’ll need to check if this update...

As for divorceware, I think if it were hardware i.e. something my wife could actually easily see, then I’d be in trouble. I find it so much easier to spend money on software! It’s terrifying.

Re: NI / Soundiron sale - deals inc 15 instruments for £199
I decided to just get the bundle. I figured if I was going to buy the harp and the piano I may as well fork out the £80 for the bits and pieces I don't have, including the updated version of Gaia.
Oh well!

Re: NI / Soundiron sale - deals inc 15 instruments for £199
I’m tempted to pick up Emotional piano and the harp. I’ve got bits and pieces of the rest and don’t really want/need the micro versions. I don’t really need another piano either but folk seem to speak well of emotional piano. Is the harp any good? I’ve actually been meaning to get another one, as I’...

Mike's been on twitter asking this too...
"Next question, what about only buying instruments you need a la cart for cheaper? Say, just a solid long strings patch or just timpani etc.."

Re: A New Addition to your Spitfire Symphonic Collection Coming Thursday !
It'd be a strange teaser for percussion or choir, considering it featured neither!
Their percussion should really be part of the "Symphonic" line at some point. But it already exists and they repackaged it fairly recently (was it 2015/16?).

Re: Spitfire PAIRS promotion / 2 for the price of 1
I picked up LCOS (I already own SCS) after about two days deliberation between it and Olafur's toolkit. It was £100 off, so seemed like a decent deal. The reason I took so long to make a decision was based purely on the fact that I rarely (never) get paying work to write music in that style. I had e...

For the money it doesn't seem too special to me. I'm sure if you showed a picture of it to a local carpenter they could knock one up for less than half the price?

Hmm...time for me to upgrade from KU 9 then?
Edit. Sod it. Just ordered it. Coming from KU9 it seems a good deal.

Re: iZotope RX6 - Released
A boom-op you should never give/move a single inch :) Saying that, it's easy when the team is small. There is a scene in a Swedish show were I stand, in the middle of a sword-fight with actors and extras, fully equipped with my Sound Devices recorder, radio receivers and my boom :-) /Anders Ha. (tangent in defence of boom ops everywhere - obviously I've no idea of this case, but in general it can be such a thankless job. If you have an unhelpful lighting person and / or a director who insists on keeping a protected wide shot, you're stuffed. It always sounds better than radio mics if you'...

Re: iZotope RX6 - Released
Will do. I remember demoing RX5 and the dereverb came in very handy while working on a scene in a glass-walled office. For some reason the sound recordist only used a boom and seemed a bit shy with getting even remotely close to the actors :-( I use RX3 every single day at the moment. For my audiobo...

Re: The Unfinished: Omnisphere Pangaea
I think I should just automatically buy these from now on. If I think about it for too long then I end up leaving it, since no one actually pays me to write music that needs it. The problem of course is that it's just the kind of music I love writing! Anyway, I've just bought it. Glad to have contri...

Re: [Wanted] Broadband absorbers
I built half a dozen of them last year. Have a look on YouTube and you'll find quite a few diy videos on it. I bought the wood from B&Q. You basically make a box, staple some muslin on one side, plonk some rock wool in, then staple some nicer fabric on the other side to hold everything in place....
