Re: BF/CM Ultimate Acquisitions

You know, I haven't bought anything for BF/CM. Yep same here, except I couldn't pass up the Embertone Steinway Walker D Lite for $10, following arcana's post about it. Now dammit the genie is out of the bottle and I've come across Orange Tree Samples absolutely gorgeous-sounding Jazz Archtop for $1...

Re: UVI Drum Designer

Nice review Guy, thanks. I think that's the thing - don't know if this is the case with this product, but I've always found it terribly time-consuming and creativity-sapping (not that I have that much of it to start with) to have to program drums / percussion from scratch - I think what I would like...

Re: 50% off Symphobia libraries

Thanks for your thoughts on it Quasar. Guy, don't worry - as you say, what can you only play through the thing! And try to make it as interesting as possible - which you've done brilliantly, with a lovely splash of humour and good form. And I don't think that anyone could argue that they haven't hea...

Re: 50% off Symphobia libraries

After three days of listening to Guy's dulcid tones, and being wracked with indecision, and it may be madness, but I finally decided to get S1 plus S2 plus Animator for a total of €667. Still quite a bit of money, but it's a hell of a lot of good sounding content I think. Maybe it is more suited for...

Re: 50% off Symphobia libraries

Hi Bill, well I haven't had a chance to download and play with it (S3) yet, so I can't give it a proper assessment - I bought based only on the various demos and walkthroughs, I'd been on the fence for years about it, maybe it was just to put me out of my GAS misery! I loved some of those sounds and...

Re: 50% off Symphobia libraries

Great prices - I bought Lumina at Christmas for 350, it's now 290 - I thought it was worth it then.
However I haven't had time (or space) to download it yet !

Re: Prophet X

Yeah I dunno, it's hard to figure out what it is - playing digital samples back though a bunch of pots and filters?

It's not for me as I could do a lot more with the money, but interesting 8dio moving into hardware, software saturated...?

Re: CinePiano released ($179)

Good observation re the duller close mics. It does sound rather lovely in general I thought, but indeed I wonder how it might mix, and also how it might stack up versus the C7 in Keyscape for example (which I don't have).

Hey bbunker - thank you so much for taking the time to write up your thoughts - exactly the kind of thing I was looking for! - much appreciated. Re: AudioSwift for Mac - 30% Discount

Thanks for posting Alex - this looks really dinky (i.e nice) ! Do you have it? The video says it takes control of your mouse pointer - does that mean your mouse is disabled? I presume not? I'm guessing it's like having a trackpad and a mouse active at the same time, but with the trackpad routed to d...

Re: Zebra Nordsund - The Unfinished

That is indeed a lovely teaser.
I think most of it is in the composition and the arrangement / sound design though?
I reckon you could get reasonably close to that with Omnisphere, the $2 Spitfire Felt Piano, and some FX ? (might take a little longer)
