Polyverse Comet Reverb

A new reverb in public beta, sounds like it makes some unique and interesting tails, and has a preset crossdissolve glide which is “perdy koo”. Seems to be a close contender to Adaptiverb, but not as expensive (and hopefully not as CPU intensive(?)) . I have Altiverb, Adaptiverb, PCM, R-Verb, Valhal...

The Container for $17

I’ve been watching this for years. I remember when it came out and was overpriced (I think $199 or something similar) . Over ghe years and sales it dropped to $49 but I still wasn’t sure I’d use it enough. But now VSTbuzz is selling it for $17, I had to pick it up and try out these sounds. After loo...

Re: U-he NKS support sale!

You know, I'm thinking that there really is no such thing as a universal no-brainer. I really REALLY don't think I need this. I adore Repro1/5, but I've demoed Diva many times and it just doesn't have that extra ooomph that Repro has. Don't get me wrong it sounds fabulous, but I have an awful lot o...

Re: The Nemeio customisable keyboard

Something of interest from CES: https://youtu.be/xyXSXgfDrQo A very clever idea, uses electronic ink rather than a lit display. You can manually flick between configurations, seems they missed a trick to auto-switch between apps. I guess you'd also need a separate numeric keypad, and I'd prefer a c...

Loops De La Cream Half off Sale

Figured some would be interested. Goes until Jan 4th, 2019. The cymbal rolls are great, but at half price some of the ethnic percussion and group stomps might be worth looking into. Checking videos myself. ;)

Re: Pro Tools 2018 includes UVI Falcon

Yes, I have a few things in my downloads page that I don’t bother with, since I tried things from them that are troublesome or useless. So my default is to research through google first, ask myself if I really can use it, then only download if the answer is yes. Downloaded the Pro effects “first” co...

Re: Pro Tools 2018 includes UVI Falcon

Has anyone recieved this yet? I keep checking my Avid account and other things have been added in the last few days, but not UVI Falcon. My support is good until Feb 2019, so perhaps I’m just impatient. ;)

Was going to purchase Falcon at the last sale but held off. Glad I did!

Oh my goodness yes - feels like a going-out-of-business firesale. That code posted by lofi works too, to get $19 (compared to their quoted RRP of $1,367). You need to not jump straight to paypal but go to the checkout page, enter the code and can then click paypal (or other payment method). Just a ...

AAS Ultra Analog great sale

Was just using Ultra Analog last night, great, clear modeled synth with nice analog sounds as well as newer digital sounds. Extra packs I really like are Raw (crazy cool distorted leads) and Analog Essentials (older analog sounds). Another great thing is it has simple controls and is easy to navigat...

The video does make this seem tempting. Such a great VO too. Anyone know how the CPU usage is? Relayer still gives me issues, so I rarely use it.

Re: VIR2 / Mojo2 Horn Section

Sounds interesting, but the vibrato is so strong it's off putting. Seems like they could have recorded this with a more natural or progressive vibrato, and a stronger fff level. But otherwise the options and setup seems top notch. Can't wait for someone to get the sound just right. For now AM Saxes ...

Re: In Session Audio / Taiko Creator

Sounds really good. Are the sounds taken from Ten Man Taiko or are they all new recordings? According to the VIC thread they are all new recordings. Picked it up and it sounds great. Though for me I prefer the clean sound of turning the unity knob and fx off, it does give a nice, thicker sound when...

Re: Cinesamples Sale Extended until Fri 10/19

The sale is advertised as "up to" 25% off, not 30. They used to do 40% discounts, and these days there are more competitors, not less. What's up with that? My guess is that they've extended it because it hasn't generated the interest and revenue they'd hoped for. The only two Cinesamples ...

Edit: And right on cue! (see my comment below) Performance Samples is indeed coming out with a trumpet lib that is very much like CInesamples 90's brass! I never thought he would be so ahead of the game! :) So cool.... though a rough alpha for now...I'm sure it will be more reasonablly priced (or a ...

Ah interesting - I've not really heard that score in isolation, only in the movie and I remember it worked very well and felt fresh. (and yes, tragic indeed). Re: Orchestral Tools / Time Macro

Going through the individual sections was nice. So great they can be stacked properly. The Tree mics on the woodwinds have a little too much air for me, (after eq'ing it seems to be mostly 6-7k, which can be pulled down 3 or 4 db while adding 3 or 4k for more clarity) but switching to the AB mics he...

The Guy Review's gonna have to be fast! Intro ends Oct 4th.... I think that intro ends as the library is released, so don't think anyone's reviews can help there. Their walkthroughs - heavily scripted though they were - did a pretty good job at convincing me. Agreed. If I hadn’t gotten impulsively ...

Re: 8Dio Intimate Studio Strings Released

This library reminds me of one of my first string libraries, Kirk Hunter Spotlight Solo Strings. Decent articulations choices, consistent across instruments, can build ensembles, a GUi I can quickly learn, and the same kind of boxy, flat sound. Quickly making it down my templete and out in just a fe...

New walkthroughs are up! Sounds fabulous, kind of reminds me of a new symphobia, but with evos, special articulations, and slowed patches (good reason to record at higher sample rates as they did). Most patches sound very useful, unlike Tundra or LCO (which for me, didn’t seem that useful beyond bac...

And double the time it would take to edit the library. ;) I really wish they would have done this with multiple mics and some real short round robins, would have made the price a little more attractive. As is $179 for ensemble trumpets with one mic postion is a little steep, even though I like the s...
