Re: Orchestral Tools: Modus by Jeff Russo
Again, heavily biased... but Modus is recorded at a slightly more dry studio. I've found the sound to react very well to additional reverb. I don't use a lot of Spitfire instruments, but from the little I know about them, I think Modus should blend fairly well. The instruments have their own charac...

Re: Orchestral Tools: Modus by Jeff Russo
These days, one of the key factors for me to consider, when deciding if I wish to purchase a new library, is if the library is inspirational. In addition, does it provide something new, something I might use and is it good value for the money? I haven't made a decision yet about this one, but it doe...

Re: Mastering The Mix / Bassroom
Been using Bassroom for 'pop' music almost from the time it was released and in most instances it does a great job. BUT one still has to use one's ears, and sometimes not using it is better.

Re: Sonible / Smart Reverb
Piet, I concur that your reasons for not purchasing are totally valid. Like you, I do have a great number of reverbs, but what helped me decide this time was how well an instrument stood out in the mix after smart: reverb was applied...something that didn't seem to happen without a lot of tweaking i...

Re: Sonible / Smart Reverb
So, let's say you have a guitar, and a trumpet in a song, would you need to insert Smart Reverb on each instrument separately ? Since it will be analyzing each instrument, and setting the reverb to suit the source material (guitar/trumpet). What if you use it as a send effect ? What would it analyz...

Re: Sonible / Smart Reverb
Of course, no one who has been around for awhile probably "needs" this reverb 😀 but I can admit, that so far, I'm really enjoying it and the results I'm getting. Still learning the controls, but am quite pleased with how it is analyzing then assigning reverb to individual instruments and i...

Re: Spitfire Audio 'Symphonic Motions' Library Released
Thanks for the feedback. Which audio setting do you have selected for Symph. Motions Player ? (CPU friendly Granular, Low elastique, Mid elastique, Hi elastique ) ? What about your RAM buffer ? My comments were based on the default settings, which I felt was an appropriate place to start. :) I am a...

Re: Spitfire Audio 'Symphonic Motions' Library Released
#1: No clicks or pops in latest versions of Cubase 10.5 or Logic Pro X
#2: Happens as you describe in Cubase 10.5x, but assigning a controller to Tightness does eliminate the 'problem'. The problem does not occur in Logic Pro X here.

Re: Spitfire Audio 'Symphonic Motions' Library Released
OT, like Christian I use an EV RE-20 a lot and that pop filter fits it perfectly. Anyone know what that is? Not 100% sure, but it could be this one (see photo below):: https://reverb.com/item/5354625-bsw-re20pop-pop-filter-for-ev-re20-microphones This one is similar: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/...

What about Elysium Harp from Soundiron? It's worked well for me on many occasions. I do use the Spitfire Harp a lot as well.

Re: Spitfire Audio 'Symphonic Motions' Library Released
Christian's video is excellent. Very nice layering and arrangement techniques for the full Hans Zimmer. I particularly liked the percussion and low 808 elements actually. I can feel myself getting worn down, there are nice textures and techniques in there. When does the sale end? If you own applica...

Re: Spitfire Audio 'Symphonic Motions' Library Released
Now, I like this use of the library: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emqHO2nRAvU Best, Geoff IMHO, Christian has done a fabulous job in this video by demonstrating that Motions is far deeper and more versatile than what many thought. And the way he brings everything together is complex and also fas...

Re: Kontakt 6.3.0 released
I have a Gigabit connection to the Internet and routinely download at 100MB/s, but this 585MB version of Kontakt will take me 33 minutes to download via Native Access. Sigh. Curious as to why your download is so slow, Jason. I just updated yesterday and it only took about 2 minutes. Connection spee...

Re: Korg Collection 2 with updated GUIs
Many thanks for the information, Guy. It certainly simplified updating. I don’t use the M1 very much anymore, so it encouraged me to revisit it and recall that it can still be useful. The new interface is definitely an improvement.

Re: Sonuscore Origins Bundle
They won’t be used every day, but they will be useful and will work well when required. Very ‘clear’ sound on all instruments, and yes, using some for arpeggiated patterns is definitely worth considering. Some can just be played with good results....e.g. I found playing a simple pattern with my left...

Re: Sonuscore Origins Bundle
Actually very clean sounding here too, Larry. Basically I've been through the entire range of notes on the Plucked Piano and the Music Box and both are very clean and clear sounding with no pops I could detect. So perhaps what you heard were glitches not related to the instruments themselves? Certai...

Re: NI to no longer allow registration of legacy products
I think the confusion comes regarding "v2" as opposed to "volume 2". I also have four volumes of Chris Hein horns, but the one in my template is "Volume 2", not "version 2", which I assume means I'm using CHH volume 2, not CHH version 2. Larry, AFAIK, there i...

Re: NI to no longer allow registration of legacy products
Wheels within wheels.... err... so... I have volume 2 as well, not version 2. In Native Access it is listed as Chris Hein Horns Vol 2 DE, so sounds like I'll still be able to use that one? Chris will clarify as soon as he has had a chance to assess things further. With his permission I will post th...

Re: NI to no longer allow registration of legacy products
I've literally just posted about Adobe Auditon on another thread, Frank! Yup, no way I'm subscribing at $20pm forever just to keep it working. Can I check something? I have CHH Horns v2... is this an affected product do you think? I use that quite a bit, especially for layering. This all really cra...

Re: NI to no longer allow registration of legacy products
Well said, Guy...and a very polite offering under the circumstances. I've sent something to similar to NI. I'm guessing many of the people on this forum have at least one or (many) more of those products, and they are still in use. I suppose my top concern is Chris Hein Horns, but I also have, and s...
