Re: Spitfire Symphony Orchestra and Masse
Yeah I'm confused by the lack of percussion. Christian made an attempt to justify it over on the other forum but it still doesn't make sense to me.

Re: A Sound Effect - over 1,000 free SFX
Thanks for posting this Guy. I have quite a bit of SFX but some of it is starting to sound a bit dated now (mostly the BBC stuff). I have Sound Ideas, Audio Pro, Hollywood Edge, BBC SFX and some other bits and bobs. I find nowadays I try to record what I can myself, or pinch something from Freesound...

Re: The Unfinished Colossus II
I listened to a lot of the walkthrough earlier and it sounds brill. Demos are cracking too.
I don't pick up everything Matt does (only because I never get paid to write that kind of stuff!) but I definitely think I'll be getting this one :-)

Re: Spitfire Albion V: Tundra
I think Tundra is going to be a bit like Albion Loegria - lots of nice Strings, and a few other alright patches I might use every now and again. I've had a good play around with it now and I still really like the sound of the strings. I'm not convinced that I'll use the brass and winds too much thou...

Re: Spitfire Albion V: Tundra
It's definitely there, I listened to it this morning just in case I'd imagined the whole thing :-)
I let Spitfire know about the throat clearing in Tundra and they replied saying that there was definitely a noise but not necessarily a cough. Sounds like one to me.

Re: Spitfire Albion V: Tundra
I bought Tundra yesterday and had a quick play with it this morning. I really like the sound and the Steam Band / EVO bits are great too. The difference in volume levels between the High Strings and Low Strings patch is enormous though. Turning on the close mics helps a lot but I found I was turning...

Re: Spitfire Albion V: Tundra
Ended up buying it. Strings are lovely. Lots of other nice bits and pieces. The Stephenson steam band stuff is quite lovely too. Found a corker of a noise in the Brass Low FX patch. Someone clearing their throat on C2 and B1... https://www.dropbox.com/s/wmkxbtx4caxrrjo/Brass%20cough%20-%20Master.wav...

Re: Spitfire Albion V: Tundra
Eeeeck! That is damn noisy. I was just hoping for more justification for buying it :D I did a VERY quick noise reduction test just to see how it would fair with RX. https://www.dropbox.com/s/mbfhutslhhri8tz/v32_NR.wav?dl=0 Granted I've gone a little too far with it (I should be getting on with work ...

I'm trying to work out if I could use the Vral Grid from Tundra on the music for an audiobook I'm starting called King Flashypants and the Evil Emperor
They might not hire me again though.

Re: Spitfire Albion V: Tundra
I can't figure out whether to get it or not. I want it, no denying that. I just can't decide whether to spend the cash. It's very unlikely that I'll have any gigs soon that I'll need it for (sadly), but at the same time it's the kind of sound that I really love, and it sounds like very inspiring stu...

Re: Spitfire Albion V: Tundra
I wasn't at the same event Anders, so no worries! I was at the Yellow Collective in Clerkenwell and all the Spitfire crew (minus Paul) were there. They had a little stand where you could put on some noise cancelling headphones and give it a blast. I played with it for about 15 mins. Lots of patches ...

Hmmm...I'm curious about this one, as I don't have very many ethnic instruments. I'm wondering if anyone here uses any of these still? Would be good to hear any thoughts on them please.

Re: Spitfire retire BML Brass, introduce Symphonic Brass
I almost bought the horns last year but was put off by some bad reviews. I was under the impression that the SF brass wasn't really that good? I remember earlier in the year seeing that picture of John Powell's template, which seemed full of Spitfire except for the brass section. He still seemed to ...

Now what to get...
I might go pick up L2 since it'll only end up costing me 20 quid.

So sad about his passing. I grew up listening to Prince so much in the eighties - my mum would blast it out of the hifi all the time. He was part of my musical upbringing. Truly unique.

Re: Spitfire Audio Gifts
Are you saying the proper Felt Piano isn't really worth it compared to the "soft piano". I like the sound of the Olafur Arnalds piano/toolkit. I'm just trying to keep my purchases down at the moment and tbh if it wasn't for the discount code i probably wouldn't be getting anything at all! ...

Re: Indiginus Renegade (Fender Telecaster)
Sounds nice...and I've got two telecasters myself. I generally try and record all my guitars myself but to be honest a lot of the time it's a lot more convenient to have it as midi. Especially if it's something like banjo (which I'm rubbish at) - my banjo is gathering dust on the rack while I use th...
