I thought the original Felt Piano was very useful and have used it a lot. However, I agree-what a weird programming choice on Autograph.

Re: Another new noise reduction miracle

I misunderstood this tool and tried it on a musical segment, me playing piano at an airport. The results were hilarious as the program tried to turn my (polyphonic) playing into speech!
I think segments of it will make for great humor sfx 😉

Re: Another new noise reduction miracle

That sounds insanely good. I wonder what the subscription price will be and how well it will work on acoustic music and singing through decent close mic’d stuff in a semi-noisy environment. Definitely going to try it.

Looks like all phrases to me, which is too bad because I enjoy writing passages for mellow brass choirs. Oh well.

Re: NI winding down development of Reaktor, discontinuing Super 8 standalone

Oh, I can’t program the freaking thing, but it’s great fun to load some various crazinesses and as I said, just muck about. The mechanized electronic drums have huge amounts of bleeps and bloops and endless patterns. Stuff like Steampipe is awesome, with a mod wheel controlled chiff. The noise gener...

Re: Rhodes release a V8 sample based plugin

For myself and a host of other unfortunates who dragged a Stage or a Suitcase to gig after gig, there are a lot of great emulations these days. Not sure this is the killer app from the demos so far, but I’m reasonably happy with Neo Soul and a few others.

Good to hear. I love Reaktor’s crazy libraries. Much prefer mucking about in it than Massive.

Re: Performance Samples - Pacific Ensemble Strings

This sounds both good and agile to me. Maybe a little edgy for my personal taste on my phone, but sounds very good out of the box. The portamento is annoying but I guess it can be controlled. Pretty cool. Now if I could get it for the upgrade price without having anything to upgrade from, I’d be in 😀

You are my new boyhood hero Larry!
Ha! Well Bill, thrifty soul though I am, I have spent too long trying to torture the CH Harmonica into a blues bag, so for that price I’ll give it a shot.

I think they charged me $35 or $39-loyalty discount?

I needed storage space and got a 4TB SSD and a Thunderbolt hub. Unexciting but necessary

It seems to have been stopped. Weird message- "the purchase of Vivace Legacy has been stopped for some time. Don't worry, it will return soon. It has been removed from your cart." (or something close)

Re: Black Friday 2022 deals of note

Guy and I went for some of the same things including the BB Tubes, u-He Zebra and the 4TB SSD. Mine needed a Thunderbolt 3 extension hub as I’ve run out of inputs. Not bad at $90 from OWC.

That HOOPUS upgrade will come around again. I held back for now.

Re: Black Friday 2022 deals of note

Yeah, I wax talking about the unit itself.

I’m also looking for a 4TB but mine will need a home AND it’s time for a Thunderbolt 3 expander. Geez. Storage isn’t fun.

I’ve got one USB 3.1 drive with a spare TB, so I wouldn’t need to buy anything but the upgrade to HOOPUS.. Decisions, decisions.

Re: Soundpaint 2.0 new legato engine, tenor sax and alto flute

I think I know now why this doesn’t convince me, and neither do the Straight Ahead Samples libraries convince me; each note is a performance, but they’re all different performances. Yes, individually each note sounds much better than the traditional approach to sampling, but the intention behind ea...
