SonoBus - Streaming from DAW to whatever!

Post by Thomas Mavian »

Just found a little gem in the form of a free streaming plugin/application that lets you stream from your DAW (or computer) to anyone using the same service, wether it is Mac, iOS, Windows, Android or Linux!

Works extremely well, support for multichannel streaming, passwords and also very easy to setup.

If you only use it for checking how a mix sounds on a smartphone it is worth the download. I can see myself using it for collaboration with people/groups. I have a project now that has 2 people "signing off" on tracks and right now I use the old bounce, send email, wait for the 2 to get together (lives in different parts of the country) and get back with comments, make a few changes and send again. With this I could easily setup a meeting and fix the small stuff in a fraction of the time.

Yes, I'm aware that this technology exists, but this is open source, and free (because I'm cheap) :)

Ooh, good question! Can't test but I think it would work!

Only tested from the laptop to my phone and tablet but the plugin/app works in either direction so I can't see why it shouldn't work.
