Re: Room360 - Spatializer
Ryan, the developer, is working on a fix for the issues on Mac.. Hopefully it will run on both platforms soon. Just a heads up: the price has been reduced to $20 for this weekend only. I'm buying it. Even if it isn't developed any further, I'll still find uses for it. I was interested in Rayspace ...

Re: Room360 - Spatializer
Only partly, Larry. The concept is similar. However, SPAT is more advanced, has a more refined GUI and offers much greater customisation. Room360 only has a handful of parameters to control. For example, it is not possible to adjust the reverb except through some attributes of the atmosphere ...

Room360 - Spatializer
This is interesting. Here is a new spatialization program: https://room360plugin.com/ It uses Raytracing to create an algorithmic reverberation. You can place your source anywhere on the stage. Choose a radiation pattern for the source. Place a mic setup anywhere in the room. And you define where ...

Re: Komplete 15 Select - FREE
Thank you Guy. There is nothing in Select that interests me immediately. However, I may be able to use it to upgrade in the future. I checked the upgrade prices in my account. I have to say that the Native Instruments Shop is a bit confusing. It doesn't take Komplete 15 Select into account when ...

Re: VE Pro 7 has Kontakt auto migration
Hopefully with the next update. I am rolling back to 7.3725 as well. I haven't been cautious with updating VE Pro since it always worked fine. In the future I will not rush the updates.

Re: VE Pro 7 has Kontakt auto migration
An update is live that should fix the automation problem. Sadly, automation is still not working in my template.

Re: Templates again, and process
One template with all libraries loaded works best for me at the moment. Everything is labeled and routed correctly. I don't want to do that for every new project. Especially when I need stems at the end of the project. For some, a template locks them into using the same sounds over and over. For me ...

Re: Orchestral Tools TIDES: Chamber Orchestra from Rachel Portman
In my opinion, these toolkit libraries are what Orchestral Tools does best. The demos sound good, if slightly stiff. I suppose that's unavoidable with samples for smaller ensembles. I do like the overall sound, though. This should be a nice addition to your tools if you write this kind of not too ...

Re: VE Pro 7 has Kontakt auto migration
Thank you — that's useful information. I hope they iron out the automation bug quickly. It would also be nice if auto-migration finally worked for everything. I hope that getting rid of VST2 improves performance. However, I'm in no hurry to try it. First, I want to make absolutely sure that there a ...

Re: VE Pro 7 has Kontakt auto migration
Did the update break my automation settings? I am using your trick Guy to activate/deactivate an instance in VE Pro by pressing B7 and C8 respectively. I had it all set in my template. After the update, this doesn't work anymore. VE Pro shows 'Disable' in the automation setting, instead of 'Horn 1 ...

Re: VE Pro 7 has Kontakt auto migration
Ah, that makes sense. Still, it's something for users that are more organized than I am. I have instances from Kontakt 5 to 8 loaded in my template. Just finding out which ones are vst2 and which vst3 would be quite an enterprise. Then I had to manually migrate all vst2 instances to vst3. In some ...

Re: VE Pro 7 has Kontakt auto migration
That's such a messy way to 'auto' migrate. Just delete your previous Kontakt version, and it will automatically load the new one. Partly, sort of, maybe. There is no way I am going to delete a previous version of Kontakt. If something doesn't work, or if I am still using vst2 somewhere, I am going ...

You could try to contact Maxime Luft on vi-control. He used to post there about his libraries. Maybe he still visits the place from time to time.

Here are the news: https://vi-control.net/community/threads/spitfire-audio-has-been-acquired-by-splice.162778/#post-5715841 I am not sure what that means for the future of the company. Re: Sleeper libraries or developers
Geoff, did you never test one of the Synchron libraries when they allowed a 14days return window? In my eyes VSL is the most professional developer. They have the best sample player by far, and a quality control that actually deserves the name. I only use their old VI Woodwinds library because I don ...

Re: Sleeper libraries or developers
The Garritan libraries I had a brief acquaintance with were all useless to me. The big exception is the Garritan CFX piano library. I use CFX all the time, in solo piano pieces and in orchestral contexts. It's one of the few libraries that I couldn't replace equivalently if I lost access to it.

Re: Sleeper libraries or developers
That helps, thank you Luke! Interesting idea that there is a sweet spot for instrument detail depending on the use case, and that there can be too much of it. If it complicates working with the instrument, or if it uses more resources than your computer can handle, that's definitely true. But what ...

Re: Sleeper libraries or developers
Not that I am an expert in mixing, but I think you are right about Fabfilter Guy. If you have a good quality EQ, compressor, limiter, etc. that you know well, you don't need Fabfilter. They don't have standalone features or functionality. They just do the basics more cleanly and efficiently than ...

Sleeper libraries or developers
What are some libraries and/or developers you have slept on? And what are the reasons? For me one such developer is Soniccouture. I've read good things about their libraries. I think the demos mostly sound very good. I have always been interested in the celeste, marimba, vibraphone and clavichord. I ...

Music Retimer could be a great help to create alt versions for production music albums. Cutting down your tracks to 10 seconds, 15 seconds, 30 seconds etc. isn't fun. I'll take all the help that I can get.

Re: Synchron Stage Reverb - New Release from VSL
I would not judge the engineers of Synchron based on their sample libraries. Music recorded there sounds really good as I have directly worked with music recorded at Synchron twice. One was on an album Daryl recorded over there and the brass sounded fabulous! I do. The Synchron products all have a ...

Re: Synchron Stage Reverb - New Release from VSL
This is the simple reverb for people for whom MIR is too complicated I guess. I have enough reverbs so I can't be bothered to download the demo. It's in direct competition with the Berlin Studio reverb, and if I had to choose between the two, Berlin Studio would easily be my choice. For one thing, I ...

Maria Dueñas is exceptionally talented. Even at such a young age, her sound and technique are impeccable. In September she played Bruch's 1st Violin Concerto with us.
